Like a complete loser, I'm watching the countdown to "On Air" right now.

Production values seem pretty solid so far, doing a segment on the PAC 12's success at the Olympics right now.

That's a good indication of Pac-12 culture. Olympic sports matter now.

:stupid:

I sent an email to DTV letting them know I will be changing my service provider at the end of August

I spoke with a clueless person today on the phone, but she mentioned there was a big meeting tomorrow about networks... (fingers crossed)

I was then passed to another and I told him to pass along that I will either cancel or suspend indefinitely if they do not get the Pac Network. Perhaps after 14 years it's time for a change...

Well pac-12.com says I don't get pac-12 network in my area. But I'm watching it now.

I think Neuheisel is going to be good at this. He is coming off as knowledgable and self-deprecating. I'm not getting the usual flash of hate I used to associate with him.

So is this like the Olympics - I would have to have the cable/satellite subscription to get the content online? I would pay for the content online on its own, if they would only take my money

That is what happens when you have to bribe the cable companies to get them to carry the channel and help underwrite the production costs.

Yeah - that's ok. I will just stream everything through the myriad of streaming sites and then no one gets my money

Might be time to dump Dish network.... even if DTV signs up I am doubtful Dish will do anything this year.

So far impressed with the network. Looks high class. Not the top like ESPN but I do like what they are doing. Seems no expense was spared in building the studio either. Rick is doing a good job already. He keeps this up he may have a future in broadcasting. Congrats to the commish. He is doing some unbelievable things for this conference

It looks as good as NFL and MLB networks. Better than Big Ten network.

cannot disagree nik. the key part there is better than Big Ten. We are going to be the baseline for all new conference networks

I checked Comcast last night & didn't see the national channel anywhere. I may just need to reset my box tonight. Anyone out there have Comcast in Chicago know whether we get access to the national channel?

I don't know about Chicago, but Comcast in Houston is not carrying it at all. :wtf:

The good news, is that we all have a shared interest in supporting this channel, so the carriers should be on board. By that, I mean it differs from the Longhorn Network, in which Aggie might say, "if you carry this, I'm dropping" because they're unwilling to support UT in any manner. It becomes ticklish for the carrier. In fact, in my opinion, that was where ESPN ****ed up with the LN. It didn't account for it's devisive nature.

But where the Pac got it right, is the shared benefit. We all when we all get it. It shouldn't be controversial.

Having said that, I thought that these contracts were negotiated last year. I'm a little disappointed. Direct TV had better figure this **** out quickly. When I purchased Direct TV earlier in the summer, I stipulated (nothing in writing of course) that I would only come on board if they were picking up the Pac Network. They assured me they were. Lying ****ers.
