Who's contemplating a switch (in Colorado) of providers in order to get Pac12 Network

I've got all the information as I'm a DISH subscriber and I'm pretty sure good old Charlie and his cronies over at Dish aren't ponying up the bucks for the carriage.

Comcast is a go if I need to.

DirecTV preferable but no word yet so I'm still waiting. Plus, I got a tree problem that may prevent me from being able to get it as you need a clear line to the SouthEast (Dish is to the Southwest)...

What's everyone else thinking. How long can you hold out?

I'm willing to hold out until I miss my first Buffs game. The WSU game is the first potential game I might miss. If that particular game is on the P12 network, and it's not carried on DTV, I'm making the switch.

I know that Directv will get a deal done for the Pac12 network soon. It looks like they're holding channels 616 and 617 for it.

My main concern is finding a carrier for the quality programming on the longwhorn network.

I am with Dish as well and when ever I call to ask, none of their reps even know what the PAC 12 network is. I am going to see how the dust settles on Direct Tv as I hate Comcast. I will go with Comcast if I have to, but I really would rather go with DTV if I have to make a change.

I am with you. I e-mailed the Dish customer service monkeys...no resposne worht a crap. I suspect I wll be changing as soon as DirecTV makes their announcement, of right after the RMS to Comcast.

If Dish doesn't pick up the PAC 12 network I will have to hope for Direct if I want it since I don't get Comcast here and after dealing with them for my MIL I wouldn't deal with them anyways.

I've got until Sept 8th before I panic. I will be in Cali for a wedding and will miss the game and won't be able to DVR it (maybe I'll have a neighbor record it so I can watch it and over-analyze it later).

Fresno State is on CBS.

Then the WSU game is likely a Pac12 Net game.

I have directv as well, but will hold out since I got Sunday ticket on the cheap during the viacom fiasco. Luckily the parents have comcast so there is a back up plan.

Same here, I'm not gonna give up Sunday Ticket especially since I ended up getting it for free. But I have very little doubt that the Pac Network will end up on DTV.

I'm fairly confident DTV will get it done. If not, there are plenty of Bars in the Boulder/Denver area that will carry it.

Sooo....I'm ignorant with this stuff.

I have Dish (g/f liked the way they say "hopper" on the commercials ), but I also have ESPN Gameplan, will this mean I get the games?

Probably an ignorant question, but, im lost on this.

Gameplan won't get Pac-12 games. ESPN has an option to pick up P12 games on its primary networks. Those they (and FoxSports) don't choose go the the Pac-12 Networks.

Dish looks like it's going to be the last holdout on carrying the P12 Networks. I think DirectTV will strike a deal in the next week or so, but Dish may not carry this year.

I have DTV but have no other option, really. Comcast isn't offered, I do not believe, west of Indiana St. We can only get good old U.S. Cable. Now, maybe they have the Pac 12 Network, but they suck balls.

Women are such weird creatures. My girlfriend picked her fantasy football team on whether or not the players were smiling in their pictures. She ended winning the damn league.

So she didn't draft Jay Cutler then?

I wonder how many customers would jump from Dish or DTV is the competitor picked up the Pac 12 network? I mean, many of us would, but, I suspect, we are a small minority of the overall viewership.

What Comcast package is needed to get the P12 Channel? Assuming at least Digital Preferred?

If you are in Colorado (or anywhere deemed pac 12 territory), it should be in digital starter. If outside P12 territory, it would be in the Sports and Entertainment Package (extra $8.95/mo), though not all comcast regions offer p12 in that package and for now it's likely only in SD.

Have dish. They have been really good and their technology(boxes, DVR's) are exception. I guess DTV will be the logical jump if PAC-12 networks isn't picked up. I hate comcast with a vengeance and their boxes are worthless POS.

I do not understand DirecTV's rationale to wait. I am getting very annoyed and might just go with Comcast since I am sick of waiting.

I can think of two reasons to hold out.
1) convince the P12 that you aren't all that certain you need it so they are willing to negotiate on price.
2) (the scarier of the two options) wait and see just how many people actually start leaving once the season starts and then decide to carry it or not.

I say option 2 is scarier because if they are calling our bluff like that I will actually be forced to change and the idea of having to rewire all this **** is not pleasant.

No Pac 12 network in Chicago/Illinois. But, somehow it's in Penn. & Mass.. not random at all

No, but seriously.. feelsbadman. I'm stuck watching old Big Ten bowl games.

:sad1:

They won't go option two because they would lose a customer for life.
