WR Jeff Thomas to grey shirt?

Hey Moett, say it isn't so.
Jeff is my favorite freshman. I am pulling for Jeff and can't wait to see him do his thing in Folsom.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the airgun incident that it him suspended for 2 games.

I hope there isn't more and that everything is ok with his family.

I somehow have to wonder if the toy gun incident and getting suspended for the 1st game didn't at all play into this.

How would this affect class numbers? Any chance we could bring one of the other 2012 greyshirts in to fill out the class? Peyton Williams maybe. Certainly not ideal.

Concerning. I really like what this young man brings to the team, and I've grew fond of his family over the recruiting process. Best wishes to all involved.

JT to go home to straighten some things out? I've heard this somewhere before . . .

He has great parents so I know the kid is going to be fine. We dont know if that might be at cu or closer to home.

Terrible news. Hope it was just the airgun incident and nothing tragic happened to his family or friends. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

certainly punches a huge hole in AZ's spin about the 25 scholly limit being why Jagne had to greyshirt

Past history gives reason to worry but keep in mind that every situation is different.

A lot of our "Uh oh" response comes from the number of kids we have seen who had bad outcomes over the past 5-6 years.

Keep in mind though that we are dealing with the Hawkins era plus one year of Embree. We know that Hawkins recruited a whole bunch of kids who were high risk before they ever got here. Many of them were kids that other schools passed on because of these risk, Hawk took them with predictable results. Even Embrees first year class was put together in a short period of time which means that he also took some risk and also didn't have long term relationships with the kids.

I (we) have no idea what is behind this decision by JT but we do know that he has solid family backing, a longer term relationship with the coaches, and is not a guy who had any known indicators for risk when we signed him.

It's always a concern when things do go as planned but let's look at this one for what it is, not based on what other kids have done in different situations.

First and foremost, hope that everything will work out for Jeff and his family. That said, this comes as a huge blow to the team as I was expecting solid contribution from him this year.

If we get a few injuries, we could be pulling defensive backs over to play receiver. ****
Took the thoughts right out of my mouth... bummer to hear this always concerning when the "go back home"... just remember Jeff, nothing like COLORADO.

Hopefully Gerald Thomas' is this years Greg Henderson and we don't get crushed with injuries.

the good news is that we can see if any of our cornerbacks have WR potential during the CU-CSU game this year.
