One of the coolest things I think is we actually drew a Zona fan over here and they are looking forward to the battles with us. This is a rivalry we need to happen. I hope we meet up with them again in the tourney finals.

Congrats to Boyle and to Jaron. Tad is going great things for the Buffs and basketball.

great video of Jaron

Be wary: Jaron has a hater/stalker that goes into every forum to write negative things about him even though he doesn't even know him.
Not saying that Air-zona is him/her or not but he did come into this forum just to post about Jaron. States the Buffs didn't "steal"
Jaron from Arizona because Arizona is recruiting "higher rated players". However, Arizona got its first 2013 commit from a Rivals
3 STAR player ranked at 117 and Rivals has Jaron with 4 STARS and ranked at 107 nationally. So IMO, I'd say it was a good steal!!!!
Roll Tad

Yup, we definitely took a lower ranked recruit which I am definitely a fan of as you need solid 3-4 year players. I'm not trying to hate on Jaron, I definitely think the kid is a steal. I just don't think he was necessarily stole from us as he isn't a priority. We are after higher ranked wings Keith Frazier and James Young. Elliot Pitts is a shooter while Jaron is more of a playmaker/slasher. Sure Jaron is ranked higher on rivals but on scout Jaron is nr and Pitts is a 4 star. Also, on espn Jaron is a 3 star and Pitts is a 4 star. I'm not saying Pitts is or will be better they are just much different players and Jaron definitely has a higher ceiling.

Thank you for the welcome everyone. @Buffnik, I don't really use any Arizona message boards, I just go on them to read recruiting info. There is way too much animosity between the Arizona boards and I avoid posting on them. Pretty annoying that fans of the same university can't be civil.

How do you guys feel about your chances with Lee, Bird, And Gordon? I really don't know much about Lee but I've heard Bird will likely be headed to Cal/UW and Gordon Us/UW. I'd much rather you land Bird or Gordon than UW.

Long shots for all 3, and I think only Bird is seriously considering us.

We have Bird on campus this weekend FWIW.

With or without Bird, Jaron makes this a very good class.

The above mentioned recruites stated they plan to wait til spring to commit (although things can change anytime).

Just glad Jaron Hopkins decided to commit early and to become a Buff.

Tad, Abatemarco, Askia, Spencer and the rest of the staff are doing a great job.

Yup. Should be interesting to see how many spots we have available come spring. Cause right now we have none left unless somebody goes pro or leaves the team (both very likely).

Arizona fans realize that this is our conference now, right?

Funny.

I've always felt Bird would end up somewhere other then CAL. With a successful season and a good visit it definitely feels like you guys have a chance. Most Arizona people think Miller stopped recruiting Bird because it seemed to be a lock that he went to CAL. But it doesn't seem like that anymore and anything can happen with recruiting.

Let us have our fun while we can.. The CU-AZ series has really started off with a bang. 2-1 in favor of Tad Boyle so far with the rubber match taking place in the tournament finale. The hate will soon flow.

Thanks for not taking the bait. Everyone around hear respects your program and aspires to have similar success. We hope that one day our programs will be great rivals. Big wins and fighting for the same recruits can only help the rivalry grow.

Good luck this coming season.

Sean Miller better throw in the towel, we went 1-2 against you guys one year. The power has shifted from UOFA/UCLA/UW to CU . All joking aside I definitely see you guys near the top of the PAC-12 every year with Boyle at the helm. Thank god the PAC-12 could use some better team considering how terrible the conference has been recently. The future of the PAC-12 is looking good with UW, UCLA, CU, and Arizona representing the conference.

UCLA will be great once all of their players are cleared, UW is looking good and Arizona has an awesome 12' recruiting class. CU will be able to compete this year but is very young although very talented. If Dre stays next year (wishfull thinking) and with the addition of Hopkins, the conference title is theirs for the taking.

I'd throw Stanford in the mix as well, considering their successful NIT run. Not sleeping on Cal either

Oregon has a great coach and nice facilities. put them on the list two. The PAC:12 in the future should send a minimum of 5 to 6 from the following group to the dance in any year:

Arizona
California
Colorado
Oregon
Stanford
UCLA
USC
Washington

Yeah, hopefully we can send more and more teams to the dance. I'm hoping for 4 this year, but that's probably pushing it.

I think Hopkins would be a great pickup for pretty much any program. Arizona may not have pushed for him as much early, but think they would have been happy if he was a part of their program too. Sounds like Hopkins was a very loyal guy, saw that we viewed him as a talent a ways back, loved the campus which made it a done deal.

Ya the last few years have been very embarrassing and frustrating conference wise. Arizona certainly hasn't helped missing the tournament 2 out of the past 3 years. Not playing in the tournament is a new and frustrating experience.
