Sackman's verdict

It will be funny as hell to see Sackman eating crow at end of season. Book mark this post and come back after the bowl game.

I hope he, and the rest of us, will be eating crow.

At this point, I'm more ready to predict he'll be eating some fabulous jambalaya....

I will bet you $1,000 that we don't make a bowl game.

I'm not trying to write for Sackman, but I would imagine he would be happy to eat crow if this team somehow turned it around.

CU got outcoached and mauled on Saturday.

Literally cannot even comprehend how anyone still has optimism for this team/program anymore.....cheers to you man!

Speaking for most of the rest of us....I'll believe it when I see it, otherwise, same ****, same ****** apathetic expectations

I have to agree with Rraalph...I am in show me mode. I have never been a season ticket holder but made it to every game I could as work and kid's schedules allowed. I came on board in 1987 when I began attending CU. Watched Mac finish building the team up, the Orange Bowls, Tricky Ricky grandstanding with Mac's talent and then bolting, GB coming in and building things back up, only to watch the feminists/lame admin/infotainment whores tear it back down. I bought into Hawkins' zen BS, even though I was convinced in 10/08 that he wasn't the guy, I hung in his corner until 11/09 when it was clear to everybody except the admin. he was destroying the program. I wanted Mac back for a couple of years to absorb the sting of unwinding DII's disaster, but was on board with Embo. I am not claling for Embo's head just recalling that feeling in 10/08 v. KU when I had this feeling in the pit of my stomach we were screwed.

The admin. ever since Mac left has dropped the ball. Albino hiring Ricky over other more qualified choices. (Who knows if they would have been better, but still a position coach over seasoned coordinators?) Hanging GB out to dry. (inexcusable and a pathetic excuse for leadership) Mandating Hawkins to hang around one more year and drive the knife in a littel further. (self explanatory) Now the stop and go nature of any facility upgrades. It is hard to be a Buff fan when the PTB seem either incompetent or disinterested where athletics are concerned

i hope the OP is right!

sacky will eat his crow with delight.

GO BUFFS!

I think all of us would love to be wrong about what we're seeing on the field. Sadly, the results do not lie.

Ditto. And I hope to have a heaping portion of crow, but come bowl time I'm guessing I'll have to pull out Springsteen and tell "boring stories of glory days".

I'm curious as to what the OP sees in this team that leads him to believe there are 6 wins on the schedule. Most everybody had the CSU game pegged as a win. If we can't beat CSU, how are we going to do against the mediocre part of our schedule (WSU, UCLA, AZ, ASU, UW, Fresno)? The best we can hope for now is that a bunch of those teams have some devasting, season ending injuries to key people.

I'm afraid of Pac-12 DB's eating Webb alive. Those incompletes and badly thrown passes are going to be picked off with better cornerbacks.

Yep, I'm not seeing 5 more wins after Sac St. Hell, I'm not even counting Sac St as a win until it happens.

This post will be coming back at the time of "bowl games", and it will be funny as hell. That I can assure you.

If it meant the Buffs have a successful season, I'm sure Sacky would have NO PROBLEM eating crow....in fact, I'd venture to guess he'd make crow jambalaya for the Utah tailgate.

Admittedly, it's hard to see 6 wins from the remaining games, but let's at least see how the next three weeks go before pronouncing the season over. I consider the next two games must-wins in order to make a bowl. WSU is borderline. If we play well, but lose I think we still might have a slight chance at a bowl. The fact that UCLA, UW, ASU, Utah and Stanford have to travel to Folsom helps our cause. If we had to play any of those teams this weekend we'd probably lose, but who knows how we'll look a few weeks down the road. I know it's hard to be optimistic after last year's team had a couple of decent games surrounded by awful performances, but let's see if this year is different.

I don't know how you get to 6 W's. I figured 4-5 W's with one of them being CSU.

CSU L
Sac. St. W
Fresno ??
WSU ??
UCLA L
ASU L
USC L
Oregon L
Stanford L
Arizona ???
Washington L
Utah ???

L's for games where the Buffs will be dogs, ??? for games that the Buffs may be on even terms. Once you get past WSU, even the ??? could be dog games. 1-3 upsets? At least 2 upsets on the road? Doubtful.

I'd toss in ASU as one of the "???" games, but I had 5 wins in the preseason with 1 of them being CSU, so..

Going into the game last week, I thought the folks posting about CSU having a legit shot of knocking us off were absolutely crazy. So as off as the OP may seem at first blush, I'm bracing myself for just about anything.

maybe the team will catch the wave. it can happen. every year and every team is different. i think we're probably toast, but one never knows for sure. anyone can beat anyone.
