Dish is IN!!! In time for football

Also do not forget to click the link on the article titled: Pac-12 Networks will be available nationally via DISH Network. It gives more details on the agreement.

So, those of us with Dish still won't be able to see the Sacramento State-Colorado game tomorrow, because they are only going to have the national channel on 413 (which will have the Southern Utah at Cal game). They said they won't have the online streaming up in time for the games tomorrow.

Wrong. They are making all the games available via the use of two overflow channels. Also everyone is getting the channel tomorrow as part of a free preview. The only thing that is unclear is whether it is is available in HD. Everyone in footprint with the Top 120 package will have the channel automatically added. Outside of the regional footprint will require the sports tier after the preview ends. Here is the presser from Dish:

The Press Release:

DISH fans score with Pac-12 Networks

Updated September 8, 2012

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. and SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – DISH and Pac-12 Networks announced today that they have entered into a multi-year agreement making DISH the only satellite provider to offer the sports programming that includes conference football and basketball games. DISH customers will have access to Pac-12 football games starting this weekend.

The agreement allows DISH subscribers to enjoy the hundreds of live sporting events, including 35 football games, more than 140 men’s basketball games, and hundreds of national championship caliber Olympic sporting events this season on Pac-12 Networks. Included in the lineup of football games will be multiple appearances by No. 2 USC, No. 4 Oregon and No. 25 Stanford.

The new agreement also provides DISH with exclusive category sponsorship for Pac-12 athletic programs. The sponsorship includes stadium signage and logo rights with each of the member schools including:

• University of Arizona
• Arizona State University
• University of California, Berkeley
• University of Colorado, Boulder
• University of Oregon
• Oregon State University
• Stanford University
• University of California, Los Angeles
• University of Southern California
• University of Utah
• University of Washington
• Washington State University

“DISH is delighted to offer our customers more than 800 sporting events available on Pac-12 Networks each year, while giving them a great value,” said Dave Shull, DISH senior vice president of programming. “This is a great partnership with the Pac-12 that goes beyond the TV screen to the campuses in the form of an exclusive sponsorship to support the programs and the students.”

DISH is offering Pac-12 Networks as a free preview for a limited time to all DISH customers. Games are available starting this weekend, including the following:

• Sacramento State at Colorado, 12:00 p.m. PT, Ch. 445
• Eastern Washington at Washington State, 12:00 p.m. PT, Ch. 446
• Southern Utah at California, 12:00 p.m. PT, Ch. 413
• Fresno State at No. 4 Oregon, 3:30 p.m. PT, Ch. 413
• No. 18 Oklahoma State at Arizona, 7:30 p.m. PT, Ch. 413
• Duke at No. 25 Stanford, 7:30 p.m. PT, Ch. 445

“DISH wanted to deliver Pac-12 Networks to its customers and our fans will benefit,” said Gary Stevenson, President of Pac-12 Enterprises. “DISH’s line-up and ability to offer Pac-12 fans nationwide access to an unprecedented number of live quality sporting events make this a huge day for DISH customers and Pac-12 fans.”

DISH customers will have login access to stream all Pac-12 Networks content and additional sporting events through Pac-12 Now in the coming weeks.

“As a leader in TV Everywhere technology and providing customers the ability to watch live programming on the go, DISH is a great partner for Pac-12 Networks as we build out our digital and TV Everywhere capabilities that ensure fans can access our content when and wherever they choose,” concluded Stevenson.

Pac-12 Networks is available to all DISH customers as a free preview for a limited time. It is included in America’s Top 120+ package and above for customers in Pac-12 territory (which includes the six states with Pac-12 schools) and available nationwide in the Multi-Sport Pack for $9 per month.

Wow, this is great news. It has to force DirecTV's hand one would think.
lets hope so. I'm sitting here waiting like an expecting father for news. Anyone know where I can listen to the game? Koa is one option right, online I mean.

Eerrmagerd...Dick Neweasel is on my TV!!!!Curse you dish, I love and hate you, but the emotions are powerful.

Pretty amazed by this news. I was so certain DTV would beat them to the punch I had an install date scheduled at my house that I cancelled finally. In the end, I was week to week as far as committing to Comcast. Seemed too painful...

Happy camper this morning...

I have it! You can come to my house, watch the Buffs, then take in the Husker game. Lots of good food and beer too.

Just called dish tech support and they were able to fix the glitch remotely. I'm now watching Stanford v Cal women's soccer. Woot!!!!!

BTW, one of the things I love about Dish is their technical support team. I have always gotten knowledgeable, courteous, english speaking (bona fide Americans) technicians who have almost always been able to resolve my issue in 5-10 minutes. I don't know how good the customer support is for comcast or DTV but Dish's support makes them hard to leave.

It is like Christmas morning. I am watching the PAC 12 right now in my house! Also, 445 and 446, the channels where the games are going to be played today, are HD channels. Hopefully this means we will get and continue to get them in HD.

It is also being offered as part of the 120 or higher package so it is not costing me anything more to get them. I have the America 250 package!

Merry freakin Christmas

If DISH had AMC switching would be a no-brainer.

I like Walking Dead, Hell on Wheels and Breaking Bad, Yo!

Hopefully this ups the pressure on DTV...

I can watch AMC shows later. Whether it be via torrent, on netflix, or some other way. Can't watch sports events later.

The way I am reading the press release...I think Dish signed an exclusive marketing agreement to be only satellite provider who can advertise at Pac 12 venues...and that right now they are the only satellite carrier. I don' think the way that is worded excludes DirecTV from picking up the network.

I won't disagree.

But why do we have to choose? That's my beef right now...

I really do like DTV, but not enough to let them shaft me out of watching all collegiate sports that matter...

Well that does it. Larry Scott should be fired, and tarred and feathered. Loyal Pac 12 fans with satellite TV missed a whole week of college football on the Pac 12 Network. The dude has failed. Game over man, game over.

And hopefully this will speed things up with negotiations with DTV. This puts the pressure on DTV now.

The Pac 12 has clarified that the Dish deal DOES NOT exclude DirecTV from carrying Pac 12 Networks.

No guide information available, can't set my DVR for the game. Won't complain too much, Stanford soccer ladies are not bad, may make a visit to Stanford campus.
