First quarter

In the first 2 games the team has come out in the first quarter and outscored opponents 28-7 or so. They look like a talented team, focused with attitude.

Then something happens, and I don't know what it is. They lose focus, lose confidence or get over-confident...I have no idea.

Does anyone see the same thing? If so, what is that dynamic??

The other team adjusts, and the CU staff is befuddled, spending the next three quarters believing yelling louder will fix the problem.....

The best barometer of being able to tell if you have a good coach is by the adjustments that are made after halftime. So far, it is not trending upward for us.

CU trailed 3-0 after the first quarter in the csu game and scored 14 quick in the 2nd then had a meltdown before half that changed momentum. 2nd half they failed to score on a first and goal from the 4.

Today, they couldn't stop sac st on 3rd and long in the first half and it cost them 14 points.

Second half key moment- CU has a 1st and 10 at the sac st 29. They run powell for 5 yds and it's 2nd and 5 at the 24. Next play, EB decides he wants to pass, webb gets sacked for a 10 yd loss and they end up punting.

CU had a 28-24 lead and had 4 straight drives to push the lead to two scores and failed.

Thanks for clarification on the scoring. I should have looked it up. But we do go up early and choke.

Sorry if that came off snarky, you are correct though, early leads and they crumble. It's a shame the football season is over and it's mid september.
