Why CU won't go 0-12

I believe CU will go at least 1-11. Why you ask?

1)The buffs are not the worst team in football right now. Pitt looks way worse. They lost to Youngstown state 31-17(FCS school) and Cin 34-10. They look lost out on the field and if they can win a game so can we. The team that may be tied with us is Penn state, they are basically the same as us (but we don't touch little boys). They start out strong then flop; I haven't really watched their games closely so I can't judge the coaching.

2)QB changes, I'm having a hard time pasting a link with my IPad but Embree said he was going to reevaluate the quarterback starter. I believe Wood may turn this around against FS. Embree also talked about coaching positions. the article was called Embree : I'm sorry, if I remember correctly.

3)We get overlooked. I believe we will play FS, WSU, or Oreg state and they will over look us and we will beat them.

4)history is with us, only one team has ever gone 0-12. Many teams start 0-2 only one went 0-12.

Please remember this is my first post and I hope I'm wrong and we get 2 or more wins, but we will not go 0-12:nod::thumbsup:

I think we will just slip into a win sometime. It is also conceivable that our freshmen make improvements throughout the season and we find a win despite the coaching.

You know it's bad when sunshine pumping = predicting one, maybe two, wins.

Welcome to the board. Misery lovers company.

You do know CU doesn't play Oregon St this year.

Penn State would beat us with ease. Their DL against our OL? Are you kidding me? Their DL abused Virginia's solid OL yesterday. We would not come close to losing by 1 at UVA. Not remotely close.

I do think the newbie is right though. I doubt we go 0-12. We have some talented players and some very young players who will get better. We may need to have a few bounces go our way but we'll get at least one. A long way from 6.

I dont know a single game that CU could win at this point. Yeah, even a squirrel finds a nut once a while, so CU might catch someone totally sleeping, but there is no game out there where CU will be favored.

Fuouck YOU Mike BOHN, BENSOB, and dicstufferno. You have destroyed our once proud football program!!! :angry3::finger:

Great first post MINN-Buffalo!! Welcome.

I agree. I have a feeling Wood is going to start and just have a feeling he is going to be really good for us. Get the ball to Thomas some more and do something with the O line.

Special teams are much better.

The D is a complete disaster. Don't know what to do there. CSPoo and Suck St used us in the middle. Go to 3-4? I'm lost on D...seems we have athletes, but they don't show up and get dominated by lesser athletes.

I was trying to point out they have a 106,572 seat stadium( I think that is some type of a home field advantage)
I may be misinterpreting your post.
Just that while PSU lost to Ohio at home, they almost beat a much better Virginia team on the road. We have lost to two awful teams and have looked bad doing so. It's going to be a long season (this coming from a notorious sun shine pumper).

Indeed it will sadly.

This is what I've been thinking. Don't know when, don't really know how, but I do think at some point we win at least on game...

Of course, now that I know that the posters here are the reason the team is losing, I'm reconsidering. I'm afraid not all you bastards are going to be good enough fans to get away from the program and let them win before the season is over...

I don't think we'll go 0-12. You usually have a week or two when you play above your heads while catching the opponent the right week. Over the course of a season, coaches will figure out what the talent at hand is capable of doing and will put them in better positions to succeed. Every week, individual players will get better as they develop -- especially the young guys. It's likely that one of the QBs will step up and have at least a few games where he finds his groove.

Most of the above is true for every team we'll face, though. A bowl game would shock me. But winning a 3-5 games would only be a mild surprise. It's hard to go 0-12 or 1-11.

There is enough talent on this team to believe we can get a win.

We need these kids to relax and just play. Get these kids laid. Then we need someone else calling plays on offense and defense.

I would take very little consolation in 1-11 over 0-12. I just don't see much difference.
We could win a game or two if several things change but the kids growing up and improving isn't going to be enough to do it by itself. Other teams kids will grow up and get better as the season goes along too. As it stands I can see us joining that 0 fer minority pretty easy this season.

I almost prefer no wins to one win. This is a turnaround that is very doable. Zero wins might be attractive to someone with a massive ego who likes challenges. Statistically, I think it is very unlikely that we go without a win.

I have a hard time seeing us go winless or only get 1 the rest of the way, but I think I might have been saying the same thing every week when we went 2-10 under Hawk.

I think this game against Fresno will tell the tale. Lose and I think we do go 0-12 or 1-11. Win and maybe that does wonders for the young guys on the team (and the coaches that appear to be lost on how to turn it around) and hopefully things turn around a bit and we still pull out 3+ wins.

Welcome to the boards...rational thinking is welcome here in addition to crazy thoughts.

Only reason we went 0-12 is because Jake Locker broke his hand in the 4th game and our backup was Ronnie Fouch. We would have tied the game against BYU on the last play, but Jake threw the ball in the air and drew a penalty. Kicker proceeds to miss extra-point. And only Ty Losingham could lose to WSU that year in triple overtime FFS.

Sounds like excuses to me

You went 0-12, deal with it. **** happens

Yeah. It's hard to go 0-12. You need a horrible team with horrible coaching -and- horrible luck.

This should be an easy season for anyone still living to witness vast improvements. Maybe Sac State will win their Div-23 national championship (I keep thinking of Kramer and his karate class full of 10-year-olds, but still - winning a championship for Sac State COULD happen).

So maybe we'll do nothing but show improvements, week after week. Maybe we'll be able to do well into the 2nd Quarter this week, then into the 2nd Half in weeks to come.

As was originally pointed out, we simply cannot be The Worst Team In Football. Just no way. I don't see any 70-3 scores. And no 84-0's either...
