About that Iowa State game in 2005

I always thought it was the NU game where the students were booted was the one that brought us down - but ISU works also

That whole month sucked ass, ISU just tipped the scales in the wrong direction.

How about if ISU hits the field goal in their last game of the season and the Buffs don't win the North and don't lose 70-3.....Does Barney still keep his job and do things unravel as much as they have?

I knew something was up when Klatt was attempting touchey, finessey fade routes down the sidelines in the first half....uhhh guys---tornado. It's Iowa Freaking State. RUN THE BALL!!!

God, I remember this like it was yesterday! I was at the Mizzou game, we stomped them, kocked Brad Smith out of the game. Patrick Williams even caught a TD pass! This is dead on. Klatt threw a horrible int that cost us the game in Ames. Wow , memories.

I remember that day clearly. The game delayed because of cyclones. The cyclones jumping out to an early lead, but CU was starting to assert itself, and then BAM! Two back to back turnovers that were returned for 6. Fin.

I was there. In person. It was surreal. I had no idea I was witnessing the beginning of the end. The CU fans that were there were like "Yeah, well, we'll kick NU's ass next week and all will be well with the world". Ugh.

Goodness, this column nailed it. ISU was the beginning of the end. If CU had won that game and NU, even if UT pasted us, the Buffs are probably in an entirely different situation and Barnett comes back the next season after serving some sort of 3-game suspension and he's getting a 2-0 CU team prepped for Fresno State this weekend.

Why would Barnett be serving a 3 game suspension after the 2005 season?

I don't know, I'm just grasping at historical straws right now. Do that instead of fire him. We should have just rode it out another year wit him, knowing what we know now.
