I gotta think Greg Brown is going to get fired

69-14, 300+ yds given up in 1st quarter on top of numerous blow outs last year. The time to make that change is now.

We'll see if anything happens.

Or at least lose his DC position and stay a DB coach. He's a proven winner in that position.

If he stays, it makes me wonder how bad things have to get.

Embree says there are no changes coming to the staff - he still believes in all of them

yeah, make cabral take over the DC role. you can't demote a DC, he's either gone or he's DC

Embree likes the way the program is going and he's going to stick with it. Taking it to the next level. Just don't ask him which direction.

I am still wondering where "proven winner" fits in after having his squads deliver Proven Wins to the OTHER teams. Living on past laurels accomplishes what for today's players' ideas of improving professionally? "Proven winner" indeed... a more correct statement is "Proven leader that can set other team's scoring and offensive records against" or "Proven to be other teams' singular wins of the season..."

That too is "proven". We're seeing the proof of their product on the field. Some folks really like that proof.

I just hope true Buff fans don't.

The guy is a very good position coach. He is no DC. He has problems making adjustments. For example, the quick slant was open all day. Why not change the coverage or have the corner play bump and run or something. No adjustments whatsoever.

the slant has been open for years... the bubble screen and the slant

Stubborn and blind loyalty will be his undoing. Well, and crappy coaching.

Of all of the things going wrong right now, blind loyalty is really low on my list of concerns. I have no faith that shuffling the coaching staff will have any meaningful effect.

In all seriousness, who is available that is any good right now?

I saw this street performer on Pearl street that would probably better understand how to stop the run. He's also quite flexible.

its gonna be very disheartening when its another team in the PAC that hires a DC

Agreed can't demote him and expect him to stay. My real question is why fire in middle of the year? The talent will not get better, the kids won't likely be working harder. I mean watching that game sat sucked but it wasn't like he was making terrible calls like all out blitz on 3rd and long. The guys are overpursuing, the freshman look a bit lost at times, tackles being missed, bad communication. So yes likely need a new DC for next year I am just not sure what you gain at this point from firing him. I guess I just don't like knee jerk reactions and it has been a god awful few games and there is a real chance he will need to go (like 90% chance lol).... I just don't know what we would gain from firing now. PS I love Cabral and would love for him to be DC so not trying to back up Brown. But seriously love to hear thoughts on if you guys think we would be better off firing now. I mean risk is if you put Cabral in DC now and results don't get much better (as I mentioned before a lot of issues I see is not true gameday coaching or playcalling its other issues) then you put Cabral in a bad spot where it would look like he needs to go too...... and thru every coaching change and round of firings I think the best thing we have had is Cabral.
