It starts with OFFENSE.
Quarterback, Offensive Line, Receivers.
I can understand if you don't have Stanford's offensive line and you canot run the ball for 1 year,
This is why the bad teams can still win games with the SPREAD OFFENSE.
Is it really that hard for Eric Bienemy to adjust and copy some plays from successful teams
(Arizona Wildcats are scoring...duh, we KILLED THIS TEAM LAST YEAR 48-29)

Look at Mike Leach at Washington State....
When is the last time a Buff starting QB threw for 378 yds and 4 TD against any team, let alone the backup QB.

Hoping Shane Dillon can put on some weight and be the starter next year.
We will never be a .500 football team in the PAC 12 until we can average 30 points per game.
It is about offense.
Any crap team (see Washington State defense vs. CU) can get some defensive stops by blitzing, incompletions.

Maybe with some SEC or PAC12 team's Offensive Coodinator as our new Head Coach

Personally, I am for a defensive minded coach. Teams that excel at defense tend to do well. Opposing teams become frustrated and make mistakes which your team can then cash in. I think of Alabama, and OU at the beginning of the Bob Stoops era. The offensive production of these types of teams tends to start out as efficient and start becoming sexy.

right Leach or Rich Rod they sucks Leach has a little more talent at Wash St. when he took over the job plus a QB & WR and Rich Rod was about to do to Michigan what Hawkins did to CU ............DAMAGE IT but we as fans want to put it all on Embo.
 
CU's won 3-of-4 against Mike Leach's TxTech teams because of great defense. Now we've got Embree's genius guiding us into today's must-win game. I have faith this will be a big victory.
 
You play to the strength of the conference. Unfortunately, the Pac12 is looking like the ACC where there's no conference identity.

When you think of the Big10 you think of "3 yards and a cloud of dust."

When you think of the SEC you think of super nasty DL.

When you think of the Big12 you think of the spread.

And if we want to go back to the Mac era, when you think of the Big8 you think of the option and good defenses.

We are recruiting not very well at OL and our OL coach sucks. Good teams need that, regardless of system. You need at least one playmaker and the only one we have is on the sidelines nursing a bad knee. You need solid coaching to play well disciplined, smash mouth football. We don't have that. We don't have anything close to that.

If I were CU coach I'd tell the OL to cut block every play and try and open up some quick passes and runs. Nothing too exciting and we don't have anyone that could break an 80 yard run or catch and break tackles for an 80 yard pass, but you also have to go for a long ball. How many long pass attempts have we had this year?

EB - great decision to go down to the sideline
Mike Leach - Leach still had a good offense, if you can "quickly" build a strong CU Buff O-Line that runs the ball, I can support Embo and EB over a Mike Leach experienced type of coach. But we need more playmakers.
Tony Jones - please start this guy next to Powell, or 50/50 playing time. Great speed, great moves.

For this game, Apologies to Jordan Webb, he had a hard fought game and had some great game stats today. Hit some long passes.
All the Buff QBs still need to calm down when passing on the run, and need to run for a few 1st downs when pressured. For rest of PAC-12 teams, is Webb fast enough, strong enough, probably not. But give him credit, he was smart and tough today.
The O-Line is still getting our quarterbacks killed, and missing goal line blocks.
