Or did the playcalling seem better today?

Loved the call that caught WSU and the camera off guard, the Jones long td run when they were expecting pass and the calls on the last drive.

A hearty YES!

I wonder if it had anything to do with EB being on the sidelines and therefore more engaged in the game than he apparently was in the pressbox. Seems a little hard to understand, but there it is.

It definitely was better but I thought we gave up on the run way too early in the second half. Powell should've been used a lot more in my opinion, but who am I? A win is a win.

It definitely worked better this way.

This is the downside of our coaches learning on the job. It took until a quarter of the way through the 2nd season before they figured out where the OC should be during games. Looks like we're slowly but surely getting some things fixed.

One thing I didn't like was the 3rd down play on the goal line. Blocking scheme on that run had too much that can go wrong with it if the defense is selling out and shooting gaps. In that situation, I think you just go with a zone surge straight ahead or slanting left or right. Too cute.

Mostly better because they allowed Webb to operate out of the shotgun most of the time.

And we did a lot of HUDDLING! We don't need to do this hurry up nonsense. Let's get the right play in, make sure everybody knows what's going on, and execute!

Exactly

I honestly don't care what the offensive system is. I want to see a consistent offense week to week that scores points and makes minimal mistakes. If that is a twist on the pro style then so be it. I dont care as long as it works.

It looked like the playcalling was more intentional taking advantage of weaknesses in the defense and our guys skills. Setting up certain plays with other plays.

Also makes the play calling look a lot better when you are more consistently making the blocks. We still had Webb doing a lot of running for his life but it wasn't every play and our backs had more plays where they were past the LOS before facing defenders.

All goes together

Saw a lot more plays in formations where Webb is more comforatble (i.e. shotgun/spread)
