Wow... it's quite sad really.

This place is a ghost town. I expected a bit more anger and upsetness (yeah ... I know that's not a real word)

I think we all know that we aren't good, are over matched and don't have a decent coaching staff most weeks when compared to our opponent.
We know that most likely we witnessed CU's only win last week and that's the Buffs aren't close at all in turning things around.

How depressing.

Do ya wanna fight?

Yeah, I actually don't understand the angst that I am seeing in some of the other threads.

I suppose it's a bad sign that we're not all up in arms over losing by 28 at home to a very inconsistent UCLA team, but the truth is, imo, there has been improvement over the past two weeks. I wish that the Wash State game was a turning point where all of a sudden we were competitive in every game, but that's just unrealistic. The way I saw it today, this team is making progress, but still has a long way to go.

I don't think - as I did after the Fresno game - that we're spiraling down the drain. I just think this program is down so far that it's going to take years to reclaim respectability. Today, we were certainly out-talented. We were out-coached at times. But I didn't see a team that was consistently out-coached, and I didn't see a team that was out-competed.

Probably the most frustrating thing to me, other than our inability to close up the gap when were given the chances in the 3rd quarter, was that we weren't able to take advantage of UCLA's mistakes like UCLA was able to take advantage of ours.

Yes. From 1986 through last year, I was completely engaged in CU football. My weekends were all about the Buffs.....

Now, I have lost interest. I guess this administration has beaten me down, and they have convinced me that the university does not give a **** about the football program.

But all is good! There are other things to do.

The game turned out closer and more competitive than most people thought it would.

really ? game was over with 2 min left in the 3rd quarter- we left that stadium down 42-7 with 9+ min left in the game after Webb was still under center looking like crap-

You know who doesn't care? The Fans in folsom. I've never seen Folsom like it has been the last two games. It's dead. No one believes the Buffs are gonna pull it out. The students aren't loud. Hell, they are barely there. This is getting to feel like the end of things as far as Boulder football goes.

Because it is so obvious that the players we have can not compete on a consistent basis with the top 50 division 1 teams.

We have been completely outclassed by our opponents somewhere between 2/3 and 3/4 of the time over the last seven years. There is nothing to get excited about anymore.

How do we not give up? Embree and crew have presided over so many 50-7ish type games in their short time it has become the norm.

Let's see, we have an OL coach and a DC who are plain awful. We have a LB COACH who for some reson can no longer get the LB's in here we used to.

Either you recruit well or COACH THEM UP and this staff has done neither this year.I'd love, just once to see a freshamn get better in 4 years.

The administration doesn't put a priority on winning and the product on the field has pretty much been **** for the past 7 (!?!?!) years. Fans are tired of the losing, the excuses, the lack of wins, hell forget wins, this team can't even be competitive with the majority of our "peers", there seems to be no real accountability on the coaching staff (who was the last AC we had that fired for poor performance?), the list just goes on and on....

I'm surprised there are as many people that still care as there are.

My wife said to me last night.... I am glad you don't care as much anymore or every weekend would be ruined because your team stinks.....

This is from my wife who thinks her school is bad.....

She went to Michigan.

Id kill just to have Michigan's players. It didn't used to be that way.

In yesterday's game the Buffs where in it until 1:48 left in the 3rd quarter. Overall they put forth good effort durring the game.

I continue to watch a team that has both poor coaching at times, and poor play from the players at times. The Buffs should have made more of a game out of it, but in the end the talent/experience is not there.

The Buffs should have scored first, but a series of errors had them punting rather than kicking a FG.

The D should have held UCLA to a FG toward the end of the game, but a missed tackle gave them 1st and goal at the 1.

The half time score should have been 17 - 10, with the Buffs having a chance.

The D stood strong during the majority of the 3rd quarter, and needed the O to do SOMETHING in order to build momentum and take UCLA out of their game plan.

Crawley should have had a pick, and by the end of the season if he has the opportunity he did again he will catch the ball rather than bat it down.

Having Powell hurt really cost CU on the 4th and 1 play. Not getting the first really hurt.

The turning point came on a freshman TE fumbling the ball after a great catch. If he goes down after the catch the Buffs are building a really nice drive.

The last TD was the fault of Preicak due to his unnessisary roughing the passer on 3rd down where they stopped them.

I know what the final score says, but I did see improvement. The problem of course is that we need the effort for 4 quarters.

You articulated my thoughts on the game. Until the two 3Q turnovers (3 TOs if you count the way too risky given the situation to go for it on 4th&1 at the 50).

I thought for the most part they looked like a football team for a change. They actually blocked better on the O-line but it didn't result in points. I have to ask though:

- Where were the TEs?
- Where were the short crossing routes?
- As articulated elswhere... why does Thomas get so few touches?

Yes, this. The ultimate consequence of delivering losing products on any field of play. Yet, the Cubs still get a lot of attention - until they're mediocre. If they're incredibly bad, they get more press. I'm not sure I really want Incredibly Bad or any more "Worst Program" press. Embree's done that this season enough already.

I did see that, with Fresno's eventual win yesterday, they achieved a 3-2 winning record. Sacramento State, too, has used their "only Div-1 win this season" to continue on to a 3-2 record with a win over mighty Idaho State (1-3).

CSU may be resting on its laurels but if these other teams keep pouring it on, I'm sure all the various ranking systems will push us into the Top 120.

But this goes back to 04's comment. I can poke and prod, make fun of sunshine pumpers, but we DO get worn down. We're getting into the part of the season that losses - even record-setting, point-spread breaking losses - won't be much.

That's pretty much because of the 0-3 start, I think.

When there is no urgency, no impetus for change, there's just no passion.

We all know how this will end. Embree will be retained for another year or 2 because our leadership is awful. Recruiting will continue to be bottom 1/3rd of the Pac12. The team will get marginally better, because you can't get any worse. We will never surpass anything more than a 4-8 ball club. Eventually they will have to fire Embree. The next hire will be underwhelming because they aren't willing to out-pay Universities like Washington State, Colorado State, Oregon State. 50k fans will continue to show up because our neglected fans are actually resiliently loyal and hungry for a winner. Benson, Distefano and Bohn will all be here another 5 years.

Sad but so very true. I don't see this getting any better any time soon. I give up. I've tried to fire up people to start a fire Bohn/Benson/Embree campaign and I'm laughed at, even by people on here. Starting to think it's the lame fans this school has that are the problem. No heart, just like the team. Why the f()ck are 50k showing up to support this team? The admins think it's okay to put this team on the field year after year if these idiot fans keep showing up(See moronic Rockies fans for a comparison).

50K are not showing up to games. 46K were there yesterday on Parent's Weekend, not a good sign.

I still would only expect 30-40k tops. 46k is still a TON of fans for a team a week removed from the worst team in DI. 46k is still supporting the team IMHO.
