Poston had a good game, and appears to be coming into his own.

Crawley is getting more and more comfortable and is going to start taking the ball away rather than keeping it away.

I was looking over Hirschman's left shoulder when he hit Kasa for the TD. Great looking ball, and he took a shot to deliver it.

Darragh was really consistent.

Agree with most of the critiques already posted.

Kasa seems to have a keen sense for fumbled footballs, must be a product of his DE days.

Darragh had a nice bounceback game from Wazzu (probably his worst performance as a Buff). Punting was definitely solid yesterday.

Kasa gives a ton of effort and is developing into a leader for the offense. It's hard for him to take that role because he's in the learning phase, but he is definitely leading by example with his hustle and refusal to let down no matter what the scoreboard says.

Poston is the pleasant surprise of the season.

Individually, I think we're actually seeing a lot of positives. This doesn't surprise me because I have a ton of confidence in our coaching staff's ability as position coaches. Where we are failing is with coordination. This team needs scheme advantages in order to have an opportunity to win.

I like that we knocked another game off. Only 7 to go before this nightmare is over (or if they keep Embree, temporarily halted, at least in terms of public humiliation)

I like that October is tomorrow, and thus basketball is rapidly approaching

We'll be returning a lot of experience next year on offense and defense. The biggest thing we need is to develop some leadership on the field, and find a qb. If it was me understanding that, I'd be holding an open competition on the field for the qb position. We need to be five qb's deep going into next summer's camp and hold an actual competition for the starting spot.

Need some QBs and some kickers to go away. We have six QBs on the roster right now, none of whom are seniors and only one who is a jr. this year along with at least one incoming recruit who is likely to step in front of most of them from day one. There just isn't enough practice time for that many plus all but Schroclk are taking up schollies on a roster that could use help at almost every other position.

Also have 5 P/PKs, four of whom are using schollies and none of whom are srs. Again not the best use of schollies for some guys who are never going to contribute to a CU victory.

The better is yet to come. The best is a long ways off. I'll hang with these guys but some changes are needed. Thank god for a bye week.

stuff i liked:

i had a really excellent pasta on saturday night.
the broncos won today.
i won my fantasy football money league again this week.
i didn't watch the Buffs game live so it didn't crush my soul.

Smith at safety is really hitting his stride
the d line is getting more good push (but still inconsistent)
The team as a whole is playing with more heart and intensity
I finished the Tough Mudder yesterday!

The "Stuff I liked" thread is remarkably short - even including the food gluttony posts. Yep, it is a tough time to be a CU fan.

I like that BP berates noobs who don't fall in line with his praise-only approach to fandom.

nice way to look at it and agree...If we are only seeing 2 or three qb's and they all seem to suck - then let Dillon start getting some reps, maybe the rest will step up (not that they have not had plenty of opportunities) or transfer? And kickers 2 at the most. lots of schools seem to get a kicker/punter to save on even more scholarships. As far as positives 1 or 2 here and ther, but I want to see some +'s in the coaching department

It was a beautiful day in Boulder. That's all I got, anything good on the field being so far outweighed by the bad.

Hmmmmm. I looked for evidence to support your statement in this thread but missed it. Is this a general observation, or supportable?

I tend to view BP's "praise-only" posts as at least 1/3 tongue-in-cheek.

Good stuff:

Pregame lasagna and french bread. Awesome!
Pregame beers and tequilia shot.
The weather
Got to see CU score a TD!
Poston getting his name called on seemingly every play for a while
Becoming an expert on the zero waste initiative at Folsom and the amount of trash recycled, courtesy of the much hyped new jumbotrons
Seeing Westbrook, Kordell and a lot of the b-ball guys walk a few rows in front of our seats

Not so good stuff:

Pretty much everything else that happened on the field
The effect that lasagna, bread, pie, beer and tequilia have when you're diabetic....
Not making it to Sackygate... :sad1:
Jacking up my shoulder falling over backwards off my seat in the fourth quarter...

The bolded actually falls in the category of stuff that I like.

I am just a noob holding a grudge. There were only 4-5 posters who made an impression on me when I joined last year, and he was one. I probably deserved the tongue lashing.

Must have been sitting next to you. We had a great view of that pass and thought he had great touch on it to get it over the LB who was directly in front of Kasa. Also liked the athleticism that Kasa showed on getting that one into the end zone.
