Who gets the most credit for the Auburn national championship?

Who gets the most credit?

  • Gene Chizik

    Votes: 2 2.5%
  • Booster who bought Cam Newton's dad a church

    Votes: 77 97.5%

  • Total voters
    79
This poll will probably be the one thing we all agree on.

Now that I typed that some jackass will vote Chizik.

Auburn should have hired Paul Rhoads instead of Gene Chizik.

Poll is invalid without "Admissions employee who got Nick Fairley into school" option.

Who gets the most credit for the Auburn national championship?

Did Cam play defense and special teams? Did he catch his own passes? Did he run the ball?

I thought football was a team sport.

There are some great NFL ballers out there at the QB spot that were also great NCAA ballers that never won a mNC. Cam was a big piece of the puzzle for sure, dont get me wrong, but he would have won an mNC if plugged into any other school.

Now, lets discuss all the other players boosters bought for Auburn. :devil2:

The defense was very average with one elite player, WRs were good not great, and he led the team in rushing.

Any other questions?

Well, I haven't voted in this poll yet. I'm still collecting data on the subject. So thanks.

Oh, I forgot another ecentricity of the college games; did he vote his team up in the polls and into the mNC. No, he didnt vote at all. But Yes, he actually did because its a popularity contest, not a real championship, and writers and reporters are suckers for a story like that. So, they ignore the crappy defense and the RB Dyer, and the other Auburn deficiencies and push them into the mNC.

But i agree they did win every game they played with him on the field.

I think I'll vote now.

Chiziks career record without Cam 29-33

He does have a hell of a D class coming in, but he also signed a great class after his national title. My Money is Gene is an average coach at best.

Scary statistics for somebody. Auburn takes their football seriously. If Chizik doesn't get things turned around quickly he will be out. They aren't going to give him the Hawkins year to further tear down the program.

Next step after that is somebody is going to fall in love with the name and hire him, likely for a substantial guaranteed contract. Unlike Auburn they won't have the will and/or the money to get rid of him when it is obvious that it isn't working.

I hope that somebody isn't us.

S$C.

Since our admin shows no support for CU football, we better start paying for players.

So, after Auburn fires him is he among the top prospects for our next DC? While his HC resume is questionable, he seems to have done rather well on the defensive side of the ball.
