Something I have noticed about playing to many young players.

I don't think before I post
If you play alot of young players at one time they get injured.

I am guessing this is due to the physical nature of playing against guys who are 3 or 4 years older than you. I am really starting to think that playing all these freshman is going to end up hurting us in the long run. They do get some game experience but they are also getting nagging injuries that could hamper their upside. Guys like Crawley and Yuri could have been great nickel and dime guys who didn't need to play every snap but they aren't physically ready to handle the game in and game out pounding that comes with the Pac 12 schedule.

The long run isn't the issue here. We need help in the short run. As far as nickel/dime guys, who else do we start at corners? This excuse of being young is BS. Everywhere you look in college football you see true freshmen and RS freshmen starting and contributing. A&M QB is one prime example. It's all on coaching, schemes and motivating.

That is what I am pointing out. We don't have anyone better than the true Freshman out there so they have to play but I am starting to notice that when you play alot of young kids a majority of them end up getting hurt. I do believe you see elite Freshman starting and contributing all over the country but short of Crawley and Yuri have any of our other guys ever been considered elite by any of the recruiting gurus. Nope.

I know down the road you need to get these guys feet wet but I am just not sure it is so good for their bodies physically or their minds psychologically to get beat up week in and week out.
