HS kicker kicks 67 yard fg....

note to CU coaching staff: whatever you do, don't go talk to this kid... We certainly do not need a kid around here that can actually kick off out of the enzone creating touchbacks for the other team. Certainly at our altitude we do not need a kid that can kick that well at sea level... We really do not want a kid on our roster filling spots that give us a special team advantage... Just stay away coaches not worth it... Keep up the great work staff

He is now 8/15 on the season, he said it broke his personal best by 11 yards. Prior to the kick he had a "partial offer" from Eastern Washington

I honestly think Monarch's kicker could do that. However, they attempt so few field goals he will probably not get looked at.

8/15 isn't great by any measures, but if we know at CU it's not just about having a big leg, but having "it" between the ears.

I'd rather a kicker who is 20 out of 20 from inside 40 yards.

Even a feel-good moment for a high school kid has to turn into a CU bitch-fest? Really?
Just enjoy the moment, and feel good for the young man. It's for these types of stories that we are sports fans ... JMHO.

It doesn't take much to turn just about any thread into a CU bitch-fest. I think a thread about Mother Theresa would eventually devolve into a CU bitch-fest.

She never donated to CU, and voted against CU (for Notre Dame) in the final AP in 1990.

The goal posts in HS are way further apart than in college and they kick off a tee. Big difference.

Way to belittle this young man's accomplishment!
I didn't mean to do that. It is a great accomplishment. My point is that it may not translate to college. Field goal kicking is kind of a quirky skill to project from HS to college and from college to the pros. If I'd have been at that game and it had been my team, I'd have gone nuts.

Well, the game is called football. Why shouldn't we have at least 1/4 of our schollies going to kickers?

I know you weren't. I was just kidding.

Thanks! It's my goal in life to impress the likes of you.

I'm glad we agree on that, but geez, even in a thread where a kid does some thing amazing, football, recruiting, pol, whine, whine, whine, whine. You must a lot of fun hang around with. Can you say one good thing about anything?
