Sonny Dykes -Throw $1.8 Million At Him NOW !!

La Tech has put up 70 points on Idaho in three quarters, put 57 on Texas A&M last week, 58 on UNLV, 44 on Virginia, 52 on Illinois, 56 on Rice and 56 on Houston. Hire Dykes and Colorado would at least be fun to watch.

Absolutely not, Derek Dooley went to Tennessee from there and has been sucking the big one since he's been in Knoxville. He's got some of the best facilities in college football.

Would rather have a coach that has coached in a major conference that knows how to recruit against teams in a major conference. I don't want another Dan Hawkins.

They're two different people. Dykes also has LA Tech playing at a level that Dooley did not come close to reaching. And, lest we forget, ANYONE would be better than Embree.

Soooo, every non-BCS coach moving up to the BCS level is a Dan Hawkins? I mean, despite the fact that he has loads of experience as a BCS level coordinator?

guess you didn't read the link-

he's coached in the Big 12, SEC and PAC

The same thing was said about Hawkins. Don't forget Dykes is winning with Dooley's recruits. I would love to see Petrino get the job, but the administration would never approve of it.

Dykes was listed as one of Rivals Top 10 recruiters in 2006, while he was the OC at TTU

i didn't think any staff could be worse than hawkins. i was apparently wrong.

hire dykes. hire grandpa. hire a fencepost. i don't give a **** at this point. we have to make a change. these guys are so far over their heads... take a look around college football and look at the level of sophistication in the offenses and defenses being run. our staff can't even manage to coach the very basics successfully, let alone innovate their way to success.

fire.them.all. dykes, petrino, moses. i don't care.

Yep. SEC Coordinator experience. Big 12 Coordinator experience. Grew up in west Texas.

Might be a nice hire in Boulder.

And DH did not have any of that. We can't let the DH experience influence factor. Some here remember that we once hired an NFL coach and former OU head coach and he administered the worst era in CU football history despite the resume.

It's his third year on the job, he has improved every single year.. lets not act like Dooley was hauling in talent either.

His QB who is dominating is a 5.1 rated 2*..

And you're absolutely right, there's no way this school will ever hire Bobby Petrino, it just isn't going to happen.

If Dykes continues to do well in the second half of the year as I suspect, then he may have a few offers out there. Several SEC schools may be looking including Tennessee, Arkansas, and Auburn. Personally, I think Auburn will hire Petrino, Tennessee will give Dooley another year, but Arkansas might be interested.

He'd be interesting in Boulder. I've always wondered what it would be like if we tried a wind sprint offense at altitude.

I doubt Tennessee would be interested, considering the fact that they brought Dooley in from the same school. It would be like CU hiring Peterson when they fired HaLkins - good coach or not, they're just not gonna go there...

I agree.
