Football: CU Buffs may mull QB change

I was starting to think it might take an act of Congress for someone to look at another QB....JWebb is awful, has been pretty since the second quarter against CSU.

Not going to happen this week. They will give it some lip service, blame the mistakes on other players, and send Webb back out there for at least the first 3/4 of the game.

To change QBs means that Embree would have to admit that he made a mistake and he isn't interested in doing that. Webb is one of those guys who coaches will always love, first guy to show up in the morning, studies all the film, does everything right in practice. Coaches tend to be in love with the idea of having a guy who is "an extension of the coach on the field." Problem is that when the pressure is on he doesn't get it done.

Webb will start next week and probably the week after that. From there on we will have an indication of exactly how much the bunker mentality has set in. How much will the coaches take an us against the world mentality and say that the fans and the media isn't going to pick their QB for them. When that happens losing the rest of the team is only a step away.

Should be interesting. Maybe the guys on O would respond better to him than Webb.

I think we're at the 'try anything' phase of the season.

Considering we've only scored more than 17 points twice this year and the combined score of the past 3 games is 143-37, it's not like a QB change could make things worse. Develop someone to compete with Dillon this spring.

Or else what
Or else we will lose to Oregon. Duh...

Honestly, I doubt it makes much of a difference. Joe Montana could be playing for us and we'd still suck.

I'm not sure we should make such a rash decision yet. Let's think about it a few more weeks.

I guess it depends on your definition of rash, besides what Waldo and sackman have to treat after visiting Vegas

IMO...I think the O is soooooooooooooo bad they have to try something. The season is lost, so give the rest of the games to Wood. If he can't make it work, then we know and Dillon starts next year.

Can someone can name another program who is 1-6 and hasn't made a QB change (besides UNLV who is grooming their future QB)?
