Good enough to be the next head football coach at the University of Colorado?

He makes sense, but I didn't follow him at Tennesee, and I'm not sure what he's doing at UDub that makes him special. I'm open to it, but I guess I just know enough about him.

would rather see Chris Peterson and Wilcox as DC. It would cost a lot of $$$, but coaching is more important than facilities and cheaper too.

He's got the makeup to be a head coach...great recruiter, young guy/energetic personality, very smart.
Here in Boise he got the DC job when he was 29 and had Boise State in the top 25 in total defense all four years. Everyone notices BSU's offense, but he was a huge reason they won two BCS games in his four seasons. He installed more of a 4-2-5 base to cope with all the spread offenses, and they still use it here.
In 2009, they held Oregon to eight points and then in the Fiesta Bowl, put Shea McClellin at inside linebacker and Kyle Wilson at safety...and it worked marvelously.
Maybe if he goes somewhere, he can bring Tosh Lupoi with him for recruiting...

Peterson isn't leaving Boise for Colorado.

I suspect Cal will get to him before we get a chance. My UW friends are already resigned to losing him.

I think this is the year Chip leaves Oregon. I could see Wilcox being on their list along with their current DC.

This would be my reaction. Nothing on his resume stands out that much - is his defense at UW that good? Were his defenses at UT good?

Tennessee
2010-56th
2011-36th

Worth noting Tennessee ranks 101st this season.

He has Washington at 58th this season. They were 108th last year (one spot above the Buffs).
