but Embree does not know if he´ll play Wood or Hirschman yet. Can we please stop the revolving doors at QB?

I expected nothing more-except maybe naming the starter. But how freaking inept is this whole staff to not be able to develop Hirsch or Wood to be better than an all-time losing short rejected QB from Kansas?

Curious as to why it is assumed that Hirschman has to be better than Webb? Was he highly sought after by BCS schools as a prep player? Has he shown a lot in limited game action? Don't you think it is quite possible that Hirschman is not better than Webb overall?

You can rightly admonish the staff on Wood. They picked him up as a transfer and gave him the first team reps in spring ball, yet it took about a week of fall practices for him to get beat out.

Perhaps Hirschman and Wood will see the field at the same time. Both QB's in the shotgun, just toying with the defense to guess which one will receive the ball. Pure win!

That's the kind of innovation we need around here. How would you like to be our new offensive coordinator? Wait, you are an alum, right?

Man, this is just getting ridiculous. Fine, sit Webb, the guy has been ineffective since the end of the 2d Q v. CSU. But I agree, how in the world Wood wasn't developed when he was, for all intents and purposes, the only QB practicing all spring? And then Webb, who was, shall we say, less than impressive at KU, comes in at the last minute and passes Wood by? WTF did the coaches see? All I have seen is a guy who can't really run, has a mediocre arm at best, and accuracy that is also suspect, but at least he isn't tall, that would really screw things up.

Thank you Mr. Webb foryour service. Let the door not hit you in the ass as you transfer somewhere else or just stop yourself from the embarrassment. You would have become the all time losing QB in D1 history. Thank Embree for that.

Not cool at all. Rip the coaches for decisions but leave the kid out of it. These issues are not just Webb's and you cannot say he tried to lose. The kid may not be the best QB, but he got the snot knocked out of him more than once trying to execute what he was given.

I get your point, but we kind of agreed on AB that players, once they actually hit the field and suck are fair game (not the same for a recruit we just signed but hasn't seen the field yet).

He sucked balls at KU and hasn't improved one ounce here. Many of us were against him coming and against him starting-you are right it is not his fault he was selected as the starter, but he wanted the starting QB job and he got it. At any school in the country, QBs take tons of heat if they are not performing. He did not perform. One decent week and mostly the rest just sucked.

Sure he's a nice guy and he seems committed and willing to give it his all but his all comes WAY SHORT of a starting QB in Div. 1, period.

It's really not this hard. Hirschman has proven to suck badly everytime he has been in. Wood has also sucked, but has shown promise. He's also athletic enough to avoid pressure and create on his own (a necessity with our offense). Start Wood. We don't need to hear about another ridiculous practice battle.
