Who would you hire and why?

I'd look at John Chavis, Defensive Coordinator at LSU.

I think DCs make better head coaches (Lubick, McCartney, Alavarez). Just an observation...probably lots of good OCs as head coach too.

Chavis is under the radar...his name doesn't come up much that I've heard.

Plus, he knows how to beat PAC12 teams.

I'll second Dykes as long as he brings Ron Franklin with him as his OC.

Justin Wilcox, the UW DC is a possibility.

Dave Christensen is a G. Pinkell disciple, who is from the legendary UW Don James coaching tree.

Franklin at Vandy, although I am not sure he would come.

Those are the first that come to mind....

My shortlist as of today:
Dykes
Taggart
Treadwell
Cristobal
then behind the others:
Malzahn

Hell no

We are an embarassment, I agree with the "Go big or go home" mantra. So we can't look any worse and we want to win.......
Tressel, Petrino or bring back Barney

Barnett is not a big name and it is again looking toward the past.

Who would hire and why?

True but it would make some news and I guarantee Barney could get us back to 6 or 7 wins a year. And at this point I would give my left arm for 6 wins.

I'm sure the moms will completely forget what happened and why we are where we are now, right? I know he got ****ed over and nothing was proven but most people don't know that. Stupid idea.

Very stupid.

Maybe not an A-lister, but Wyoming is playing decent ball without much talent at all. This year's squad is a disappointment for sure, but overall DC has turned in a pretty respectable efort at a place that is much harder towin at then Boulder. He can beat CSU, so he is a step up from Embo....and like him or not, Pinkel is a solid CFB coach, largely because he learned under one of the best, Don James. DC was with GP for eight years or so as his OC, we could do a hell of a lot worse.

Losing record while coach at Wyoming? Check
Losing conference record while coach at Wyoming? Check
Acting like a bitch on the sideline? Check

Looks fine to me...

Justin Wilcox (yes, I am a broken record)

If we were to hire Barnett (no chance), count me out as a CU fan.

I hear you, but I would point out, Bob Devaney 35-10-5 (went on to lead NU Osborne's predecessor), Fristz Shurmur 15-29 (eventually HC of Green Bay), Fred Akers 10-13 (went on to success at UT), Pat Dye 6-5, one season (HC at Auburn), Dennis Erickson 6-6, one season, (HC and MNC at Miami), Joe Tiller 39-30 (went on to success at Purdue), Christensen 18-20. The point is NOBODY wins big at Wyoming. EVERYONE has losing years there. While W-L's are important, when considering somebody from a place like Wyoming, they are only a part of the puzzle and not a non-starter. A lot of HC's have come from there and most did not have winning records overall and all had some pretty ****** years while they were there.

Harbaugh seemed to do ok turning around crappy programs very quickly.
29-21 at Stanford. 12 W's came in his last year, with Andrew luck running the show. WCO prostyle works in CFB if you have a Luck, Barkley, Sanchez, Leinart at the helm surrounded by a gaggle of NFL talent. CU does not have that, and is not likely to any time soon. I have seen enough lame attempts at prostyle at CU, thank you. Shortbus an GB put it in withe very limited success (a level of FB competence I would kill for now), and EB and Embo have put it in with results I believe speak for themsleves.
