Ask any coach or player what the first and biggest sign of a team quitting is.

They will all say: The defense starts going through the motions and playing without emotion.

We've been in that situation since the 3rd week of the season, folks.

No doubt, you have to quit to give up 14 yards a carry. That dude is a good back but that's pathetic. If they aren't flat embarrassed, they just don't give a ****. I wouldn't wanna be seen on campus.

That defensive "effort" had to constitute a new low, even for a team that can't go any lower.

They had the look of a team that has completely given up. I saw Crawley watch a guy walk into the endzone on two separate occasions where he didn't even attempt to come off his block or come up and make a tackle.

The DB's are SOFT. Henderson didn't even attempt to make a play on that TD pass in the corner of the end zone

so, has the defense quite on JE and GB, but the offense hasn't quit on EB? Or was that a one time "Thank god the coaches finally stopped playing the ****** QB" bump?

I don't know if that's the first and biggest sign. I think that comes after the Defense and other players recognize "bad and wrong positioning, bad and wrong play-calling, bad and wrong skill development routines".

I really do wonder what happened during the CSU game - a known rivalry game (and certainly well-known to THIS coaching staff, above all other Hawkinsian predecessors) and yet CU is obviously misguided, miscoached and over-matched by squads of players that never would have qualified for a Pac-12 team.

A whole off-season, kablooey, in Game 1. Sac State might have been just a continuing coma from that first week's injuries. But Sac State? IN BOULDER?!! Folks, doctors might spin an induced coma, but losing to Sac State was NOT comatose. That was DECISIONS. A whole lotta "I quit" and "I give up" decisions.

Then, having Fresno State set school and conference records against Embree's squad.

I think we all realize - seeing what Leach is doing up at WSU - exactly what THAT 'win' was all about: "two teams trying to out-lose the other, and Leach's play calling made his squad achieve HIS goals more completely than Embree's goals."

Embree's got the CU Offense going - against the worst defense in the conference. That's it. Even then, he's either completely fearful of Woods-The-Headcase or preferring Hirsh-The-Weak-Arm.

Halftime adjustments in the 3rd Qtr still show Embress's staff cannot accomplish positive things after reviewing the game in front of them.

Offense was playing against a soft defense. We see what happens when a defense actually punches them in the mouth. There's no fight. Stanford players are still laughing about how soft our players are.

No doubt. Of course it is understandable that CBs might avoid contact at times, but our safeties are just as soft. The coaching staff wants to keep on emphasizing young guys like Mosley, but he does not stand out at all. If anything, he looks worse as the season progresses.

You want to know a recognizable sign of softness on offense? Watch the screens and watch how defenders routinely fight through blocks.

So true. The DC should get on the DB coach. Who is the DB coach? Oh yeah...
