I just received the following email from CU:

We wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your ongoing support this football season. Your relentless passion makes a difference in the development of our program for both the current student-athletes and future Buffs.

As part of our Fan Appreciation Month, and knowing that many of you will have family in town for the Thanksgiving holiday, we would like to take care of our very best supporters by offering you access to four additional tickets on a complimentary basis for the home finale vs. Utah on November 23 at 1 p.m. It is also Senior Day, so we encourage you to be here to help support our senior class as they play their final game for Colorado.

As it will be Thanksgiving break for the CU students, we are able to offer these seats in the lower bowl south end zone area of Folsom Field. This offer is subject to availability, and the locations may change.

It's a nice gesture by the AD and I do appreciate it. But... wow. Just wow.

Latest Sign of Desperation: Athletic Department Giving Away Tickets

Dear xxxx,

Thank you again for your support of Colorado Athletics.

Go Buffs!

Sooo, now we have resorted to just giving away tickets against a conference opponent? Is there any commentary even needed here?

Feel free to merge the thread I just started into this one...

I had the same dumbfounded reaction.

Free tickets - holy smokes. And they are going to keep this coach around another season?

It is amazing the number of similarities between the Rockies and the Buffs

I really don't think Embree will be retained after this year and this reaffirms it. Giving away free tickets and Folsom will still be half empty.

Who the hell am I supposed to give those four tickets to, anyway?

Oh. My. God.

What a dumpster fire - seriously - what a complete and utter disaster CU Football has become

Right? I couldn't pay anyone enough to use those tickets. I am actually going into work on Friday because that is preferable to the CU gameday experience.

Beat me to it Nik. Was just going to post the same thing. So glad I purchased the season tix so I could get 4 more for free! What a train wreck.

Well, at least they don't have to worry about people showing up wearing powder blue. That would be really embarassing.

If they even get half the stadium full it will be a miracle. Utah doesn't travel well, so it won't be like when Nebraska would come. I predict historic lows Folsom in a couple weeks.

I already asked my brother, a CU grad from the 90's if he wanted to go to the game with me against Utah. He's in town from Seattle. He said absolutely not, he'd seen enough last year when we went to the Washington game. Maybe 4 more tickets will sway him

The best way to show appreciation for the fans is to give a damn about the product on the field.

It might be a stretch, but it would not surprise me if the conference pushed this move. That national TV game against Utah could be beyond embarrassing for the PAC-12.

I just saw a great idea on the Rivals board.

We should give our free tickets to the homeless / beggars in Boulder. Most of them are drunk and rowdy. Some are even crazy. Should make for a great home crowd and would be a great way to support the team while also doing something nice at Xmas time.

I fully support this idea.

It will only support the rest of the nation's idea of who attends CU games.

They might appreciate it - we still have showers in the stadium - so they could have a nice warm shower on a cold November day.

Great. Finally a ticket giveaway where I could actually get some tickets, and this team sucks too bad for me to even consider going to the game.... :sad1:

Every day a new low is hit...this is unbelievable. From conference chamionship games to giving away tickets so the stands won't be empty. Way to go Mike.

Has this ever happened to a top 25 time all time school? I don't think USC hit lows this bad in the 90-00's. Or ND in the past 10 years. Heck Kentucky is a bottom feeder SEC team and still averages 40k a game(granted stadium holds 70k+) and I doubt they give away tix.

A new low every week...

Re: "Fan Appreciation Month"

4 times the tickets. 4 times the terracotta warriors.
