Until April 2017 (which is a one year extension to his current deal) with increased incentives. Per Thorburn/Brittany Anas who is at the Regents meeting.

More when we get it.

Buyout is

750k before April 30, 2014
500k before April 30, 2015
350k before April 30, 2016

More than deserved for Tad.

Just keep increasing this.

Strange that with the incentive the CU basketball coach is making more than the football coach.

As they say, you get what you pay for.

Buyout is

750k before April 30, 2014
500k before April 30, 2015
350k before April 30, 2016

Average Attendance is:

42K before April 30, 2014
25K before April 30, 2015
15k before April 30, 2016

sorry, I thought this as Embreeheehee

If anyone but Anas reported this we probably would have found out there were further increases for NCAA and pac-12 tournament wins.

That's what I was wondering. All I remember was the article she wrote where she suggested black body paint was racist

I dont know how out of the ordinary this is for Basketball coaches. I remember reading an article a while back about what the top coaches earned, and many of them had $0/year base contracts, and made all their money on performance and endorsements.

I competly agree we should pay Tad what he deserves, but I think he is probably being paid pretty well, the article just reads weird and doesnt paint the full picture.

That said, if he isnt being compensated properly, Fire everyone

Not fair to her. She reported that dumb-ass faculty members suggested face-painting for a blackout was racist. And then, she, or maybe someone on the editorial staff had an awesome idea to include a picture of a black person in facepaint at the game (or at least with his arms around those in facepaint). The Daily Camera kind of shoved that whole thing back in the face of those faculty members, I thought.

Oh. Good news on Tad. This is the model the AD should emulate for football. Hahahahaahahahahahahahaha! I'm just kidding. We got soooo lucky with Tad. Luck is not really a good model to emulate.

She filed the initial story as she was at the meeting, but Thorburn said they were gonna send the contract to him, so I guess if there was something in the details, he´d have filed a story himself.

This isn't news, its a re-hash of what happened in June. The Regents are just now getting around to rubber-stamping it and the final terms are will be announced. Further, I believe there is already an understanding between Tad and Bohn that not only will the base will increase, but the incentives will get a whole lot bigger once the Pac12 checks start rolling in; heck, the academic incentives are already more than doubled! Remember, this is the FIRST year CU actually receives the benefit of the Pac12 TV/Media deals, mucj of which is committed to re-pay the University's loans to the AD.

Tad makes just south of a $1 Million a year right now. (For all you lame-os who will come out whining that "he only makes $165K") And note that Tad has already turned down huge pay increases from aTm and the Fuskers. He's comfortable salary-wise and not motivated strictly by money.

SMU too.

Thorburn has filed his one story for the day. Wait until he needs a story for next week.

Plus the extension gives him a nice extra chunk of guaranteed cash with that extra year.

The importance of this extension was cosmetic. It's not the real re-working of the deal that is coming later. This is more for recruiting the 2014 class (i.e., he is under contract for their 4 years).

Pay the man again this offseason. And while your at it, pay Rohn, Prioleau, Billups, and Abatemarco so we can keep the staff intact. I don't know that anyone is going to come with an offer good enough to steal Tad away right now, but I have a feeling a mid-major is going to at least make a run at either Rohn or Prioleau this year. I'd really like to see the staff stay together for one more year, and then I'd like to see one or both of those guys get a shot at a head coaching gig.

Tad's not going anywhere but it'd be cool to see a couple more branches on his coaching tree. It would be good to make CU a destination for rising assistants.

This is the key. Tad is redefining Boulder as a desireable coaching destination. Not there yet, but a packed can,c-unit, and improed facilities all contribute. Want to see Tad here for a LONG time, take care of his staff Bohn.

Tad is the best coach in the Pac. We can objectively say that now. Accordingly, Bohn better pay him more than Howland and Miller and keep him here for the next decade, in writing.

IDK about that. Sean Miller makes $2.3mil

He's good. Lets see how the rest of the season plays out, but I think we are going to have to pay him more and deservedly so.
