Make An Announcement NOW

The administration or Mike Bohn or whomever they think needs to do it, needs to step now and tell the fanbase (whats left of it) if Embree is going to be retained or let go. They need to do this now! I am on the side that says fire him as soon as humanly possible. Waiting only delays the search for a new coach. But, if the morons in charge decide they are keeping this tranwreck then they need to come out NOW and tell us. Agree or disagree?

I agree with your sentiment, but I think they want to make sure they at least gave two full years. I'm more than happy to wait 5 days if it means that Embree is canned.

I say should fire him this week and place cabral in charge for last game... at the sound of the last whistle on last play of utah game fire the rest of the staff (including cabral, sorry) and get a real HC and staff in here

Why would they need to come out publicly and say he is coming back next year? He is under contract for three (3) more years. If they intend to bring him back next year, they certainly don't need to say anything.

There is the slimmest glimmer of hope they may can Embo if da yoots come to Folsom and do what every other team has done...kick the crap out of the Buffs.

I would say it is remarkably slim, since the powers that be are not even remotely capable of properly managing the FB program.

I think the real reason they wait until right before KO to announce they will keep a lame duck HC, ala 2009, is to get as many suckers to Folsom as possible, then just before KO, annonunce the retention of the lame duck, then hope and pray for a W, or at least that the dumb assed decison gets lost in the post-game clutter.

I am truly scared we are stuck with this lame ineptitude for all of those 3 more years. he seems very stubborn and out of touch with reality or just ignorant. He should have started tweaking things back in the summer

Very true, that is why I think he will be back for at least next but with new OC/DC coaches......

I think they would do it as some sort of mangled vote of confidence. I think after this disaster his 3 years are meaningless. He looked and sounded like a defeated man on Saturday at halftime and it was 7-0. We are a national joke line and despite the fact he has a supposed 3 years left I think they need to officially let people know he will be retained. Then people can stop talking about him being fired.

Because MB addressed the media two weeks ago saying that there were going to be significant changes. They need to address what those changes will be.

I don't know why those changes have to be announced immediately. The coaches' convention is January 6-9. Would not surprise me if there were no changes announced prior to that.

Don't tease me like that lefty....even the slimmest glimmer of hope gives me hope. Does that mean I am Utah fan this week?

Don't you hate that they have reduced us to this. I can't believe I have to root against my team to help them in the long run.

Hey Mike! What's worse than powder blue?

A stadium of CU fans wearing the other school's colors (especially when that color is red).

Because if they plan to keep him recruits need to know it. They hear the chatter, and if I'm a CU recruit I wonder who is coaching me next year. If that is the plan, they need to kill all speculation now for the sake of everyone involed (recruits, current players, assistant coaches, etc.).

In fact the longer this goes with no announcement the more I wonder if they are actually, seriously considering making a change here.

If they don't make an announcement that Embree is fired within 72 hours after the Utah game - then Embree's job is safe.

That's one line I can't cross. If I get tempted, I need to go to apathy.

I would think 72 hours would be long. I would venture to say if we do not hear he is gone Saturday, he is back. Either way, I think we will get immediate announcements of the plans on Friday or Saturday, be it coordinator dismissals or a major coaching change.

I think that is the good news this time. With Hawk, I was forced to face this moral dilemma. But we are so bad now, that I don't even have to worry about what the other team is doing. We just show up on the field and we lose by 30. All I wonder about now, is how the hell did we actually win a game this year?

Can't we just wait until after Bruce Benson's 75th birthday that is coming up on July 4, 2013?

Given the nature of a holiday weekend, I will hold out hope for a firing until next Tuesday. Serious leaks on Monday, presser on Tuesday. If there are crickets on Monday though, we've got at least one more season of despair.

For teams that play on the Friday after Thanksgiving, if they fire their coach they almost always do so over the weekend and usually on Saturday.

Shouldn't there be some leak by now that we are talking to other coaches? I really don't know...just wondering.

No. I honestly think they are waiting for the results of the Utah game before making the decision. I say let Embree coach himself out of the job on Friday to make it final. Then make the announcement.

I am beginning to think that firing Embree was off the table throughout most of the season but Bohn's silence on the matter publicly leads me to think it is an option they are evaluating.

The continued performance decline coupled with a fan base that is getting quite angry and showing it but not attending the games (lossed $, etc.) and bad national publicity is making them reevaluate. I think JE's job may actually be on the line on Friday. A bad showing against a bad Utah team leading to our first season in forever without a home win, in front of a small crowd may just do him in.

I also think that the juxtaposition with Boyle's progress is not helping JE. At a traditional football school, Tad is proving you can recruit lights out and compete on a national level. He is also showing that an apathetic fan base turns passionate if you put a quality product on the court/field.

It they want to see one more game before making their decision then it sounds like they're looking for a reason to justify the fact that they're going to keep him around another year.
