Jarrod Darden, Zach Grossnickle, DaVaughn Thornton leaving the team

Hopefully all 3 earned degrees. The other two aren't surprising but Thornton is

well, the only question is who else. sucks about thornton. He had talent. Also sucks that Grossnickle never got an honest shot on kick offs.

Good luck to them. I hope they all got their degrees and enjoyed their time at CU, despite what happened on the football field. They're always Buffs

Glad to see they are at least determining this now so that they can be honored at Senior Day.

ZG was a better punter than DiLallo IMO, so I was always surprised he did not take over the punting job. He was the only one who consistently put it into the endzone on KO's, so naturally, he did not get to do that much either.

Touchbacks don't let our special teams D work on missing tackles.

ZG was a better placekicker than punter, actually. But "Money" owned that job.

Kind of sounds to me that another 3 Hawkins guys are being shown the door.

Telling them over the summer they would not be here for their senior season. Not cool in my book.

As soon as we get rid of them all, we'll win a game or three.

don't get the Thornton situation... he played a role in CU winning the Wash St game only to then disappear afterwards-

I am not a fan of JE's leadership, etc. and think he should be fired, but I am just not convinced that he would discriminate against players recruited by someone else.

He started Buffs4Life which doesn't discriminate based on who your coach was. He bleeds black and gold and wants to win as badly as all of us (or more) and if he thought one of those players could help him win I think they'd be playing and I am sure he wouldn't show them the door.

Embree has proven to be an inept HC but I don't buy that he is pushing out all of Hawk's players. He may be trying to push out all those with loser mentalities which Hawk tended to encourage.

:stupid:

I posted this in the other thread but this should do wonders for our recruiting at Denver East. Coaches just doing a great job these days.

My understanding of this situation, gathered mostly from other people here on Allbuffs, is that it is more a position coach and their guys that they recruited kind of thing rather than Embree specifically pushing out Hawk guys. This is Embree's staff though, so the buck stops with him.

True freshman year he had his arm in a cast I believe so they put the redshirt on projecting him as punter. Would've had a shot at beating DiLallo otherwise.

Coach Mac did the same thing in the early 90s. At least Embree gave them a heads up well in advance so they could complete their education.

Jarrod has transferred to Wyoming to play his final year of eligibility for the Cowboys. From all accounts, he'll be a starter.

Rep for the news. I would enjoy seeing him finally get on the field and hopefully he can get some TDs for those guys.

You and me both. I'm a Wyoming fan and alumnus and hope the Pokes finally get over the hump. From the reports out of training camp he's doing real well and will fit in nicely to an already loaded reciever corps. He'll get his first shot when the Pokes open on the road against the Huskers.
