Maybe the greatest Buff of them all.

Thank you, Brian.

Sigh. Of all things I never thought I would see... Thanks Coach. Wish it had been you.

The guys bleeds black and gold. He might have needed to move on but the way this was handled sucks.

Sad how he went out, but I think working for 2 completely inept coaches caused him to lose his fire. I hope he goes on to do great things somewhere else.

The guy is going to land at tOSU or some such place where they have ridiculous studs at LB and make them better. Watch out. If he goes to Stanford, holy **** that'd be nuts.

One of the best LB coaches ever. It's sad to see what's happened and the rumors that abound, but there might be more to the LB play this year than originally thought.

Congrats on an absolutely stellar career at CU and godspeed!

Love the man. That said, if this is first of several, I understand. Can't very well support a reboot but keep BC. at the same time, if this is a one off as a way to cover for the rest of them, this program really is dead to me.

CU's Hawaiian pipeline is no longer in business.

Thank you Brian and Becky for your tireless support of CU and its athletes.

A great story. When we went down to Austin the last time, a buddy and I took our sons. The party the night before the game was at a bar where they would not allow kids in. Becky, Brian's wife came to the door and apologized for it not being a family event. Becky is or was a big supporter of the alumni gatherings. Anyway, she said that she would hang with the boys while my buddy and I went into the event and had a beer and enjoyed the party. We went in and stayed for a half hour or so as we did not want to stick her with the kids. We came back out and she and Brian had taken the kids to the corner hot dog stand, bought the kids hot dogs, gave them beads and all kinds of Buff trinkets and kept them company. The kids did not know who they were hanging with but we were blown away. They would not let us pay them back for the food and drinks and were just happy to spend time with the boys.

This is the Cabral's I know and will always love. He was one of the great Buffs and should not have been done this way. Thanks for the playing, coaching and leadership Brian.

Thanks for the great years, Coach Cabral. You are truly a great, and a once in a lifetime Buff. I don't think anyone cares as much about the University of Colorado as much as you do. Thanks for all the great LB'ers you helped mold throughout the years and for making CU "Linebacker U". You will be missed.

Thanks for everything, Coach Cabral. It's all the more sad knowing that our Buffs would not be sitting 1-11 and the national laughingstock of college football had it been you in charge.

Thank you Coach Cabral for all the years and all the dedication and all the heart, soul and tears you have given to this program. If anybody asked me what a true Buff looks like, I would point them in your direction...

Thanks for representing us Hawaiian buffs so well.
i believe that your exit from CU football will be a good thing that will result in more success and joy in your life.
Aloha

Keeping this thread positive-Cabral had a hand in coaching some of the best LBs ever not just at Colorado but in the country and many have been successful LBs in the NFL.

But beyond that, Cabral epitomized shoulder to shoulder and the commitment to greatness at CU. I love how he stepped up in the mess left from the Halk years and led the team to victory. If he wants to continue his career elsewhere I am sure he will have PLENTY of options. Maybe back at UH, perhaps as a DC?

Good luck Cabral!

Brian -

Your contributions and dedication to the team is immeasurable and will not be forgotten. Your name should be honored with the rest of the great Buffs on the west side of Folsom field. In a football world of many coaches who have come and gone, you are a survivor. Best of luck to you, and yours.

I cannot picture my Buffs without Coach Cabral, any more than I can picture them without Ralphie. He is an institution. A Great Buff. A Leader.

It was not supposed to end like this.

I think seeing him on the sideline showing his Hawaiian pride is one of my fondest memories of him.

Goodbye Cabral. Thank you for all your hard work making CU great. You will be greatly missed.

I think he has the longest win streak as head coach for the last two coaches he took over for? won more than embree

I'd give my left nut for Brian Cabral. He represents all that is good and decent about being a player, coach, and friend. There is no one else on this earth who more epitomizes what it means to be a Buffalo. Godspeed to Coach Cabral and his family.

Man...Cabral was a true buff and what seemed like the greatest of guys...His passion would bring tears to my eyes as much as it would to his and I hope for the greatest of opportunities to come for him!

He will be missed more than any.....

Regardless of how anything went down and the team's performance on the field, Thank You Brian Cabral. You have been with the good and the bad and helped steer the sheep for many young kids in troubled times. We owe you a debt of gratitude for how you have handled yourself and the situations you were put in at your beloved University of Colorado.

Thank You Brian!

This is Brian Cabral. I love this man and would do anything for him. His legacy is so deep and rich in the young men he has molded and made better. To me he is an aspirational figure and a person who, beyond football, should be emulated. I love him like I love my family.

Have some friends that played under him at CU - they have nothing but great things to say about him. Thanks Brian.

Coach thank you for your dedication to CU football as a player and coach. You truly are a true BUFF that bleeds black and gold!!!!!!
