Today's Presser Reminded me of Earl Bruce

I did not see the press conference, but if Jon was shedding tears as was reported, it sounds strangely similar to Earl Bruce's departure presser from CSU.

My fear is that the next HC will be more similar to Earl at OSU. Averaged 9 wins a year, but the former players hated him. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see the the majority of the Denver media even giving the next guy a chance.

At first I felt for him. The guy just lost his dream job. I think we've all been there to know how that feels to lose something you care so greatly about.

Then as he kept going over the same stuff, the injustice of racial inequality, how he had succeeded in so many ways (outside of what he was ultimately brought here to do), how he's the victim of this or that from the University, he had two roads to travel and he took the low road, throwing the University under the bus and throwing the angry media the perfect assist to attack a weakened AD and football program. He did not protect his University. He opened it up for more decline. Totally irresponsible for somebody who so passionately cares about this program.

In the words of Bill Parcells, "winning is a great deodorant." If the next guy wins games, he'll be fine. If he has a rough couple of seasons though, you're right, look out...
