2 Coaches offered OC job under Embree, 2 turned it down. Thoughts?

New to the board, but you guys have been a fascinating read on both sides of the Embree/Bohn situation.
It was reported earlier today, that 2 respected coaches were offered OC job under Embree before the firing. Both said no thanks. (Vic Lombardi)

What do you guys make of that?

I make of it that there are there are 2 smart, and respected coaches out there. Who in the world would accept a job under a lame duck coach like Embree? His coaching was and is a disaster.

PB - can you shed a little more light on the reports, what we've gleaned from sources close to the situation (and whats been publicly leaked) is that Jon was ready to sell the defensive side of the staff down the river and wasnt ready to make any call on the offensive side. Some have even insinuated his refusal to remove the conspicuously quite EB was his ultimate undoing.

It kinda refutes other things we have heard earlier about embree not wanting to get rid of bienemy.

If one of the coaches was Mangino, who reportedly called CU about the OC job I'd think it ws fairly obvious why he was turned away (not that I dont think he is a great coach).

Not surprised. Only reason to come is if you thought you could get the interim head job when Embree was fired in mid season you take over and do good and get the HC job full time.
