Josh Smith Leaving UCLA

Perfect timing for the Buffs to be on the upswing while one of the traditional conference powers is falling apart.

It's between CU and Zona, folks. UCLA will have effect, there's still simply too much talent for them to not win their share. However, the infighting and issues with Howland will prevent them from having any form of consistency.

The darkhorse to watch right now is Oregon.

:yeahthat: Also, Altman appears to have taken his on-court whining and bit**ing up a couple of notchs since last we saw him at K State.

He was much more demure then. Now he's just a step below Bobby Knight-level.

Howland went zone last night for the entire game. He feels they lack athleticism with their recent transfers. Hope CU keeps practicing against as they will be seeing alot of it.

Duke recruited Smith in HS, and failed obviously. He really wanted to stay on the West Coast, and there were a lot of concerns about his weight. The fact that he still hasn't managed his weight is troublesome.

Not saying I want Boyle to pass on Smith, but I would very cautious of him. I find it amazing that I can make that statement - years ago, you had to take this kid just from a talent standpoint. This kid just doesn't have a lot of drive. Remember David Harrison? It's like that, but shorter and fatter.
