Mac rightfully calls for Bohn's termination NOW

Bohn has been a weasel from the moment he arrived at CU. His incompetence and dishonestly has finally caught with him. He needs to go ASAP.

Anyone else hear something chirping? God ... that's annoying.

So is Mac calling for Bohn to be terminated because he went along with the hire Mac was pushing for that failed spectacularly, or because Bohn actually made the necessary move and made a change?

I call Bull***t and you are a sucker if you are buying what that senile dude is selling. Mac needs to be fired!! He is just pissed his handpicked coach sucked a** and got fired and he can't do anything about it so he is trying to bring down the CU ship with it.

Won't happen, but his job does depend on the next coach. But I hope some buffs won't want the next coach to fail just so Bohn is fired.

seems ex buffs and coach got Embree hired, and donors got him fired.

Let´s face it, Mac wants Bohn gone NOT because he cares about CU, but because he wants the job. Full stop.

Don´t bull**** us, Mac, be honest.

Bohn has done a lot of good, like: hiring Tad Boyle, basketball facilities, got butts in the football stadium in lean times, and hired one of the hottest commodities in college football at the time in Dan Hawkins.

His mistakes were: Messing with Barnett with the contract extension, giving Hawkins an extension and hiring Embree. Embree should not have been hired in the first place.

Bohn has got to pick the right football coach here, keep Boyle for the long term and convince the tight-fisted admins to invest in serious athletic upgrades. If he fails on those, goodbye. Firing Embree was the right move.

Still torn. Part of me believes Embo deserved one more year, the other part is wondering why Bohn hired him in the first place.

Either way I will always love Coach Mac, and will support the new HC 110%

If Bohn should be fired, it should be for hiring Embree in the first place. Not for correcting a mistake (that might or might not have been forced on him).

What's somewhat lost in this is that Bohn runs the AD and has to run it so that he can afford to pay for all the various sports. The fans spoke with their dollars by reducing sales by $2.6 million and it was gonna be even worse next year. Maybe Mac should be going after the fans for voting against Embree and really forcing Bohn's hand. Maybe Mac should be going after donors to the university that were withholding donations because of the embarrassment that the football team was.

Here is why he was fired...

Why do people keep saying Bohn hired JE - do people not pay attention to how things get done?

abs - f**k you. Can't handle an opinion different than yours?

Not when it´s completely ridiculous.

You can make the argument why Bohn should be fired, but Mac isn´t making it by forcing his ridiculous agenda.

First, Bohn OFFERED Barnett an incentive-laden contract extension, rather than the "show up for work, don't leave and we'll pay you big bucks" contract Barnett had had with Tharp. Barnett, un-used to incentives and growing lazy (he hated recruiting), said "No" to this offer when it was on the table for his signature. He then responded by promptly pulling an "Embree", going 0-3, by a margin of 130-22 over his last three games. Who in their right mind, could offer anybody a contract following that kind of embarrassment?

Second, the contract extension of Hawk was offered when Hawk actually appeared to have things going in the right direction. The issue was keeping Hawk a fifth year, but that was forced on Bohn by Benson/DeStephano.

Third, Bohn's choice to replace Hawk was Calhoun. Embree was, again, forced on Bohn by a combination of Mac and the B4L Choir hitting hard on DeStephano and Benson and the economic limbo caused by losing the B-12 revenues and not yet being eligible for Pac 12 revenues.

Bohn has otherwise done a very credible job selecting coachs when he can exercise his own discretion. Even the K-Mac choice seemed reasonable: like Hawk she was a hot up-and-comer, chosen in a sticky moment after the guy from Green Bay backed out at the last minute. And business and marketing-wise Bohn has done excellent work with smoke and mirrors and very little cash, thanks to our fickle fan base, mediocre donor base and no state support(TABOR makes that impossible).

Overall, he gets a "B+" from me and many others.

rialto has been a weasel the moment he posted his first post on Allbuffs..... he has zero facts to his reason for anything that he post......he needs to go ASAP.....

OUCH!!! The truth really stings! Unless you ignore it like the senile old fart that Mac has become.

Or maybe Mac's just greedy and power-hungry, since he's stopped being able to convince men to attend his Jebus rallies?

I have criticized MB as loud and as long as anyone, but HE IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT in canning Embree. Mac's call for MB's job is complete and utter bull****.

The additional year that Embree deserved was Hawkins year 5. Not pulling the trigger in 2010 had a huge impact on the hand that Embree was dealt in 2012.

Embree might have benefitted with Hanson and Speedy and McKnight. His winning percentage wouldn't have been any worse. Its easier to overcome a learning curve when there are reliable upperclassmen and a third year of recruits.

But that's water under the bridge now. Embree was the wrong guy at the wrong time. The product on the field became unwatchable under Embree, even for the most patient of fans. Embree earned his a once in a lifetime chance and ultimately failed to provide the progress and optimism that fans demanded.

The aftermath of the firing is cathartic. The three that did the firing of Embree are at least paying lip service about their newfound commitment to righting the ship.

Benson will be replaced soon enough. He has been a rainmaker for the university who will have a legacy for the AMC and be remembered by football fans for taking his eye off the ball up until the search for Embree's replacement. Phil DiStephano has proven to be a bureaucrat who has been no friend to the football program. When Benson heads out to pasture, I am hopeful that Phil will also ride off into the sunset. Their recent promises to salvage football very likely will be inherited by their successors.

Mike Bohn finally gets to step out and be his own man, unshackled by two lame duck administrators. Mike is also in an environment that is toxic and has very little margin for error.

I'm content to sit back and support Bohn during the coaching search and upcoming facilities announcement. He has enough rope to hang himself and will either turn the program around or get hung out to dry by his eventual new bosses.

In time this will get sorted out. The triumverate of the seven year disaster will be judged by their words and deeds. Its exciting to hear for the first time during their tenure a commitment to success. Now they have to walk the talk and see if they can turn their stinky legacies around before their time runs out.

The fanbase can finally stop living in the past now that their hero Sideshow Mac has completed the cycle, from ashes to glory back to ashes.
