Congrats to Stanford - Pac-12 Champs

For those who thought they'd fall off after Harbaugh left, doesn't look like they're going anywhere. And they have Barry Sanders Jr waiting in the wings.

It's easier to win at a school like Stanfurd that doesn't have the academi......

Um, never mind....

It is crazy how an institution that cares so little about football can be so good...

Speaking of which, I know the weather wasn't good, but is it just me or were there empty seats?? It's the Pac-12 title game and they can't fill a 50,000 seat stadium??

I know I was hoping Stanford would fall off at least a bit after Harbaugh left.

Glad they won though. Better they get the boost for the title than fUCLA.

Just got back from the game. Stands were empty. Weather was better than expected, and I'm guessing why it was so empty as fans expected the downpour. Thought UCLA was gonna pull it out early, but Stanford held them when it mattered. Great finish, and hopefully CU will be playing in the P12 champ game within 5 yrs...

The announced Attendance was just over 30k! Pathetic showing. Not really sure in what world the powers that be thought Friday night at 5 pm would be a time slot that would show off the PAC 12. Looked awful on TV and sounds even worse. I live on the West Coast and missed most of it sitting in traffic trying to get out of Seattle. I am sure many West Coasters were in the same boat too. Odd time to showcase your Conference.

I understand the Friday time slot. Pac12 does not want to compete with SEC and Big 10 Championship games. It makes sense from that standpoint.

But may I suggest a week off? Or do finals matter?

That would be kindof cool. Push the championship game back another week. In this year's case, that would have made the Pac-12 championship be December 8. I don't think that is too late.

It would also give the champion the advantage of playing later / closer to their bowl game. It would be beneficial if the Pac-12 champ was ever to get into the BCS title game - not as much of a layoff between games.

You can't push the game back a week. Some kind of rule about that someplace. Having it on a Friday night, when the vast majority of Stanford alumni are still at work, is retarded. Bad move that I'm sure they will learn from.

Congrats to the Cardinal! I was wrong on them, I thought they would drop down to 7 or 8 wins.
I have a friend on facebook that still claims UCLA is the better team though. How can you say that? Beating a team twice in a season is tough enough, but twice in one week? I think there is no doubt Stanford is better. Plus Cal spanked UCLA, while Stanford beat Oregon and almost beat Notre Dame.

I think we are going to have to get used to seeing UCLA in the CCG. USC is having a hard time.

LOL - that is about as delusional as they come.

If the Nubs get in to the Rose Bowl, the crowd is going to be 3 to 1 fuskers. Gameday announced that there was about 31,000 fans at the Stanford game. Talk about pathetic. Can you even imagine what Folsom would be like for a Pac 12 Championship?

The Pac12 championship game would have drawn a bigger crowd if it were held at Jerry World.

I'm not saying it belongs at Jerry World, but California doesn't take its football seriously enough.

Stanford impressed the hell out of me this year. They just kept getting better. Once they found a QB during that game against us, they turned into a great team. They could beat anyone in the country right now.

Glad we could be of some assistance to them.

Too bad they have a ****** fan base. I did get a kick out of the nerd they showed on tv with a rose. He was staring at the Rose like he just won a spelling bee or something.

We also did great things for opposing mascots and cheerleaders. Do you know how good of shape they got in after doing so many pushups?

P90X aint got nothing on us

Their fan base isn't sh!tty. It's dispassionate. They like good football, but not if it happens to get in the way of an opera or a performance by Yo Yo Ma.

I'll never forget the looks on the faces of the tree fans when a bunch of us started singing the CU fight song at the top of our lungs in the parking lot before the game last year. It was a look of pure terror, mixed with odd curiosity.
