I'm actually kind of pumped that this is getting so much media attention. I have to think that that can't hurt when a prospect is gauging the level of interest that a program has.

Unless he flew commercial, I don't think he was in at 7:30am. There have been exactly zero flights from the Cincinnati area into any of the regional airports in the Metro Denver area except the one that landed around 11am at Rocky Mountain Regional. I imagine they could have made a stop somewhere along the way, but I'm guessing that's unlikely.

Reed has some good intel, but I think he also has a bad source (or some miscommunication between him and his sources).

No reason for Boyle to be there to do anything but convince him that is it possible to recruit here. Unless Boyle is a character judge in the interview.

So Woody was correct in that this interview was to seal the deal. It is all on the CU brass to bring Butch to Boulder!
 
also, reed is furthering the rumor that the second plane was for butch's wife. :lol:

Tad is 3-for-3 this year with recruits committing during their on-campus visit. Time for him to go 4-for-4.

As ReedMarks reported in our chat (some he had already tweeted, some new)

  • Purdue is out for Jones.
  • Contract agreed to before he ever stepped foot in Colorado - 2.65-2.75 million per year for Jones; $3 Million per year for staff (Ed: that's a significant bump)
  • Facilities improvements are tied into this (no details there)
  • We will know by tonight whether Jones is our HC - Reed says he would "bet $$" that he is, as he thinks today is just a formality.
  • Reed Marks @reedmarks: I was told by Coach Tad Boyle that he will "absolutely" be helping Bohn in meetings today. @MileHighSports @Allbuffs
  • "Barbara Jones will be the first lady of buffs football, she will be very active in the community!"

  • Washington DC Justin "​Wilcox is a possibility" (regarding potential Defensive Coordinator) - @reedmarks
  • New uniforms will be extensive and multiple - including multiple helmets - "I would expect OkieLite style uniform selection." @reedmarks (not necessarily new, but definitely fleshing out the rumors)

It is now confirmed that Jones is the new Head Coach at CU $2.65 - $2.75 /year PLUS Mil / year for staff, which is $300,000K MORE than USC!!!! IHe is meting with players now at Dal Ward - just met with Shane Dillon and a host of others. Jones will not coach Cincy's Bowl Game and will announce to his players tomorrow at 1:00PM at a Cincy Press Conference that is is the new CU football coach!!

Also, please note that adam from rivals is also hearing smoke that jones was hired, but has now backed off that as a proclamation. Currently on the radio.

That's from multiple sources now. Only question is if he's meeting with the team or just the "class representatives" that were suggested. If it's the full team... Locked up.

Hopefully he's meeting with Oneil to arrange for free drinks at the bar.
 
Lots of smoke all over the place (hell, we have random internet posters on allbuffs citing AD sources) that we should expect to know our guy definitively sometime tonight.
