When the Buffs win on Saturday at Kansas

I hope they calmly get in line to shake hands with the other team as if they expected to win. Big grins would be all right as well.

When? I doubt it'll be this Saturday.

I share your concerns about our performances on the road. However, KU has been vulnerable at times. Oregon State came close to knocking them off in KC. I'm not expecting the Buffs to be entering the final minutes with a chance to win, but I wouldn't be overly shocked.

If we could come close with Bzdelik's teams, including in Allen, it's possible we've got a shot Saturday if we come to play.

The last 3 or 4 times we played them we came close to beating them. If the buffs can play a full 40 min like they played the first 20 against CSU they have a chance.

What's the biggest road win we've had in the last 3 1/2 seasons?

KSU is the only one I can think of. Lots of moral victories, but I can't think of too many wins against decent teams on the road. This is the biggest thing that needs to change for CU hoops to take the next step as a program.

Nik, I believe the entire PAC-12 could use a big road win. A win at KU by the PAC-12 champs will turn heads.

Since we broke the "streak" at Nebraska on March 2, 2010 our road wins have been: Cal State Bakersfield, #20 Kansas State, Texas Tech, Air Force, USC, Arizona State and Utah.

Has to get better. You have to be able to beat the mid-table teams with some consistency on the road. We aren't there yet. In fact, under Tad we've lost virtually every game we've played on the road to a mid-table team (I'm talking about the Oregon States and Cals of the world). All we've proven is we can beat some of the worst teams in college basketball on the road with some regularity.

Huge opportunity for this team Saturday. A win in Lawrence would be the perfect way to get rid of this block with road games that has dogged the Buffs for so long.

a win at Kansas would be a signal to the rest of the world that we have arrived. Kansas has won 94 of the past 95 games at allen field house. That loss being to Texas. Teams simply do not go there and win. Would be a sweet one for Tad I am sure.

I'm curious to see if KU fans still think we are the same old CU from the days in the Big 12 instead of the defending PAC-12 champs that we are today. I'd love to to see those KU fans choke on popcorn while trying to shout SUCK C*CK GAYHAWK!

They know we've improved, but one NCAA Tournament appearance isn't exactly going to have the average Jayhawk fan shaking in his boots. If we want their respect, we get it by beating them. That gets their attention.

I agree I think that this game is a Program changer. I really think that if we win, the national stage will finally take notice, not that they haven't, but I mean everyone. All the doubters out there will be silenced. I also think it would do dividends for our '14 recruiting. If you look there are 3 high-profile prospects that are considering both CU and KU. The first is in state prospect Collier, the second is Vaughn a 5 star shooting guard and last is Hamilton. I think its safe to say, they will be watching. Everyone will be watching tomorrow.

jmo here ..... so take with a grain of salt

I think this game is all about this year alone. For 2 years running, we've had solid teams that were on the cusp of being at tourney at-large bid. The NIT year, we had some nice upsets, but the OOC schedule and rpi (supposedly) kept us out. It would have been the same last year, sans the 4-wins-in-4-days amazing finish that made us the conference auto qualifier.

Win this game today, but follow it with a couple of mediocre seasons, and the win won't mean very much.

The ooc schedule is changing because RollTad wants to leave no doubt when the selection committee meets in March. In the future, we should expect the espin talking-head so-called experts discussing an 18 or 19 win Colorado team by saying, "they played team x tough in x-ville, and won at team y's gym. They beat 2 good teams, w and z, in Boulder in December. They did their work, there in."
