Lmfao. Bohn is in kentuky looking for a FOOTBALL coach. He may as well just quit as AD and avoid the public humiliation

agree.. i have supported him... this move would end this guys support and 6 season tickets

"hearing more and more".... From whom? Nobody is hearing jack, but this guy is hearing more and more! LMFAO.

This guy's resume does show some promise, to replace someone like DeRuyter when he leaves.

And Bowling Green University is in Ohio, not Kentucky

My roommate went to Bowling Green and is a fan of the Falcons...his comments:

"That would piss me off"

"I've heard he is a dick but he is winning with a young team is I don't want to lose him yet"

Clawson is a very good football coach who has been mentioned for a lot of job openings this year. This would be a very unpopular hire, but he'd probably do a great job.

I have looked at his resume. Not very impressed. Who also looked at this guy for a coaching opportunity? Please provide some insight.

Program builder. Twice named 1AA National Coach of the Year at his previous HC gigs, Fordham and Richmond. Took over a mediocre Bowling Green squad that had been pretty much a .500 program since Urban left. Clawson got them going this year and looks poised to challenge for a conference title next season.

My main complaint is that Tennessee's offense was atrocious the year he was OC there. We don't want him running the offense.

Nik, I don't want this to sound like a smart ass but who do we want? Every name that has come up has had people saying ,"Well he would do well at..... but not CU." I see a time coming where the dead period will be in affect. Are the guys that have verbalized their coming, still on their way? Are the gray shirts still coming? There is a staff apparently but may or may not be here. At least they are still trying to recruit and are at the banquet. My picks the whole time were Dykes, Malzahn and Chad Morris. Seems Bohn either thought he had a pick for coach or the news of money and upgrades would spark others if "Plan A" didn't work. For the players, parents and recruits they need to get this thing going. I get just not getting anybody but damn, this is getting silly.

cubuffthis,

I wish I knew.

If Jones hadn't gotten the 11th hour Tennessee offer, he'd be our coach.

If Mullen would express interest and the compensation package worked for him, he'll be our coach.

If Golden's agent called us tomorrow and said they were voiding the Miami contract, we'd hire him by the end of that day.

Beyond that, it's a bunch of speculation.

I believe that there is a lack of hot coaches this year from the mid-major level. The best of that bunch either seem to be extremely young or have a short track record. If not that, then they don't seem too interested in leaving their current job (see Nevada & Utah State). CU is not interested in a retread HC who failed at the last stop (and I agree with this). So, unless a Mullen or Golden fall into our laps or an Andersen decides that tripling his salary is a good reason to leave Provo... I really believe that CU should roll the dice with a top coordinator like Wilcox or Diaco.

That said, there are a lot of good coaches out there. What I'm saying is that I don't see the Urban Meyer type out there who had great BCS experience and then killed it at the smaller conference level. I also don't see the Jim Tressel type who had dominated 1-AA for over a decade... unless CU would do something like make the big offer to Craig Bohl from North Dakota State (former DC at Nebraska, Duke & Rice). I could get behind that, fwiw, but I don't think it's happening.

if we hire a joker from Bowling Green with a losing record as a head coach, we will be worse off then we would have been had we NOT fired JE and staff. If that happens, I cancel my six season tickets without a second thought.

I'm dubious...Clawson, I will say, did a great job with their D this year, but man, their offense is ghastly.
Also saw that he's a candidate at Temple (which makes much more sense).
That Berk guy sounds questionable...he says not only will Pat Haden fire Kiffin, but he wants Petersen, who he thinks is going to Wisconsin. Of course, Matt Hayes (SN), Joe Schad (ESPN) and Pat Forde (Yahoo) all say Petersen isn't going anywhere.
Odd that a Midwest recruiting guy is so dialed into USC's AD.
Just get MacIntyre and end this crap.

Clawson was a kickass coach for Richmond (excellent rebuilding job that culminated in the FCS semifinals, with his predecessor Mike London winning the championship the next year) and has an excellent offensive mind. However, this would be considerably underwhelming.
