The players had a team meeting at 8 a.m., and Spartans defensive end Travis Johnson said the possibility of MacIntyre leaving was discussed at the meeting.

"He called us all in and said there was a job offer on the table," Johnson said. "He wasn't sure if he was going to take it or not. He was explaining how the job offer would really help his family.

"He was telling us how he loved us and he cares. He's just figuring out what's right for him. He hasn't made the choice yet, but he's going to make the choice soon."

Totally agree about the comments. I would be pumped if MacIntyre took CU to 10-2 in three years. If he chose to leave afterwards.... so be it.

I'd put the likelyhood of this one being false at about the Powerball/Lightning/Supermodel BJ chances.

My guess: MacIntyre is doing his homework on the CU job and will go back to SJSU athletic director Gene Bleymaier before he formally accepts an offer.

The Spartans will do what they can to keep MacIntyre, with a salary bump and assurances on the construction of the new football ops building.

Will that be enough? Who knows.Colorado is a tough job and just fired coach Jon Embree, an alum, after only two years.

Maybe MacIntyre stays … maybe he goes … maybe Texas Tech jumps in at the last minute with an even better offer.

As we have seen time and again with such matters, it’s not a done deal until the coach conducts a press conference at the new school.
ugh

He doesn't say all that stuff if he's not already decided. Been through coaches leaving before and if they're not leaving, they don't say things like that. And I can't help but think his integrity is 1000% higher than BJ.

I'm trying not to get too psyched about Mac cuz I got psyched about Pigeon and Embo. But on paper, things look like a match.

BTW...did you notice they were within 3 pts of beating Stanford. THREE ****ING POINTS!!! The last time we were within 3 of Stanford was at the kickoff of each game.

This guy can compete with the elite of the PAC12, is a west coast recruiter, turned around a program and is a head coach. Pretty much the complete package...IMHO.

Go Buffs!!!

Sorry, but tripling (a guess) your salary and going to a bcs conference is a no brainer, no matter how rough the outlook may be. I like his Southern pedigree, and with success have little doubt he'll be jumping shipping when he has the chance. I'll take the success either way.

Lucky for us the SEC just hired a bunch of new coaches. Likely have a guaranteed 3 or 4 years of him staying, as long as performance improves of course
