What I like best about Mike MacIntyre...

What I like most? Defensive back ground and pretty decent one at that. Not stellar, but decent.

Used to be a shoney's in boulder on Araphoe between 28th and 30th. Was taken over by Hooters. Not sure what's there now.

There is a Shoney's at the intersection of I-70 and I-81 in Hagerstown, MD.

The guys seems like he's "over himself" and can work the game of football. Embo and Hawk were both putting all their energy into being big daddy baller. I expect Mac to build an effective football team that can win games.

You guys do realize that overall at SJSU he was 16-21. That means before this season when he went 10-2 he averaged 3 wins a season. Does one good season in the WAC warrant a jump to the PAC-12?? Apparently according to your AD it does.

Who do you cheer for?

Who is your AD noob?

Not sure who your squad is, but I'd really like to think that you have something better to do than come to another team's site to post stuff like this. If you're the fan of a rival, then we'll see you on the field.

I am an Arizona fan, but this is not really about talking smack. I grew up in San Jose so I also follow the Spartans and am familiar with Mac's tenure. Don't get me wrong he did a great job at SJSU. He inherited a bad program and it showed in his first season when he went 1-11. His next season they showed tremendous improvement just going 5-7. And then this season has been the best season for the Spartans since at least the mid 80s. I just figured that since this was his first winning season and first time leading a team to a bowl game, that this would be the year when he maybe got on the radar screen of some pac-12 schools. If BCS conference offers came I figured it would be from at large conference schools if anything. It just seems a little early, that's all I am saying. Plus, isn't this eerily familiar to the Dan Hawkins hiring?? Maybe I am wrong. Maybe he'll be exactly what the Buffaloes need. Only time will tell.

You should probably be aware of this quote from him.

"There's been inquiries about different things, but we like it here, we love it here... That's just the way this business is. When I'm standing here 15 years from now, you'll be asking the same thing, just like they do with Chris Petersen all the time."

-- Mike MacIntyre, as quoted by the Mercury News, December 4, 2012.

That would suggest that even if he is able to turn your program around, don't think for a minute he won't bale on you guys when a better offer comes along. And yes I know it's not quite the same since SJSU is the WAC and CU is Pac-12, but there is always someone who can offer more prestige, power and money.

i drink simulpec's tears of envy. they taste like winning.

What's to envy?? Rich Rod has already begun to turn things around for my squad. You guys just hired a coach from the WAC, which you've done before and it ended up in disaster. Yeah I am real envious.

so, just to be clear... the guy we hired who was making 400k a year is a shameless mercenary who left for a school and conference where he could actually win a national championship and he gets a big boy salary. but, rich rod, who left his alma mater after swearing eternal loyalty and who ended up getting sued for it is a good guy.

got it.

thanks.

your tears taste like fine wine, bitch.

I don't think many of us are looking for a life-long coach. If Mike Mac can turn our program around the way he did at SJSU, I would be fine with that. By then you may very well need him at zona anyway, so it might be good timing.

I think Zona will be fine. But honestly, regardless of the ignorant rantings of Darth Snow and Liver, I hope Mac does do well for you guys. College football is better off when the Pac-12 is more competitive. I am just surprised they went that direction, considering how bad things went, last time they hired a coach from the WAC.
