Article: Football: CU Buffs' Mike MacIntyre will hold open practices

Obvious this really bothered the writers covering the team. I have no problem if they leave them closed to everyone but the media. Let it be the coaches decision. Whatever works.

Tad Boyle holds open practices but asks fans call the day ahead to to check with the office. I see zero reason the football coaches cant do this too, it allows them to stop people showing up when there are game walk throughs, it allows them to know who's at practice and it shows the fans they are valued. I know nothing of CoachMikeMac but I can tell you that Boyle is far more humble and embracing of the fans that our previous football coaches. Hopefully the next set can learn from Tad.
