'13 WA QB Sefo Liufau (Signed to Colorado)

Nice job sefo. #leader

Good luck at your state championship game. Win or lose, I am really happy to see your leadership come to the buffs. Go buffs.

With Embree gone does Sefo remain committed? He's the prize of this recruiting class.

If he wanted to come to CU before, this can only help as the next staff can only be better. I don't know the kid but I always gathered he loved CU for CU and was coming here for that, no just the coaches. Then again, if he was in love with 1-11 and wants to bail on us, then it is probably for the better all around. Hopefully he stays with us as I have heard nothing but good stuff about him!

Stay the course Sefo !! now you will be coached by "real" coaches. You will actually progress here at CU now and have a true shot at the next level, if that is what you want? If not, you will get a great education from the most beautiful campus in the world.

Brandon Huffman ‏@BrandonHuffman And it's why I've said for a couple years now, Liufau the toughest QB I've seen last few seasons... #Colorado

Liufau getting flushed from pocket every snap, getting hit everytime he throws but he's standing tough. Been doing that for three years...

Liufau gives the Lions a spark before the half, throwing a 22-yard touchdown after setting it up with a 33-yard pass. 29-10 Skyline w 40secs

Brown obviously is talented. The difference in these teams, top to bottom on the roster is night & day. Sefo getting drilled every play. Very impressive to watch him. He has a certain moxy about him under center that you just have to love. I think if we're looking to go to the spread, we'll need a guy like him under center who can move the pocket, run the read option plays and take advantage of one on one coverage. He's going to be a great player.

Watched Sefo last night in his title game. Big, mobile, strong arm, touch. Kid's got it all. Very impressive. He looked as good as Max Browne on the opposing Skyline team, USC's heir apparent. Between Sefo and Dillon, we should be solid at QB for 4-5 years. Very encouraging. For Embree to have landed those guys says something. If only EB and GB could call plays ...

I'm really optimistic about Sefo and his future as a Buff. Sticking with his verbal will prove a lot to his future teammates, who do/will have far more talent than they have shown in the past couple of years. He can excel in whatever system we adopt, I'm sure - his presence will make it easier for other talented players to come here as well. We're historically good, in part, because Boulder attracts enough top level players and coaches to weather the ups and downs.

The right QB can change a program more than any other single recruit. Sefu has proven in HS that he can win in spite of not having the greatest talent around him. A combination of physical skills, intelligence, leadership are what he has shown so far. It would be great for him to be identified as the QB who led CU back (kind of like Hagan and Sal will always be remembered for their role in bringing CU to the top.)

"Sefo Liufau (Tacoma, Wash/Bellarmine Prep), a Colorado commit, has long been overshadowed by Browne in-state, but he showed why he’s every bit the college prospect, throwing for 376 yards (which also would have broken the previous record), and three touchdowns, and setting state records with 33 completions and 45 pass attempts. Liufau spread out the offense, and withstood a tough Spartan pass rush, which had him on the run literally from the time he’d take the snap. He was hit hard, and almost everytime he let go, he was tackled, but would pop up and kept battling. The future Buff had the Lions farther than they’d ever been".

Okay, screw the Butch Jones part. But we still need to keep Sefo; he'll fit perfect in Tim Deruyter's offense....

If Sefo stays committed he is going to fit into HCMM's pistol offense perfectly. I actually see good things developing next year with this offense if we have a quarterback who can threaten with his arm and legs. Add Powell and Abron to that backfield and we have some serious speed and muscle.

From what I have seen and heard, Sefo would be a great fit, but I still HIGHLY doubt that he starts a game (barring injuries) and most likely I would assume he will redshirt.

Mostly what I hope for is Dillon runs away with it in Spring, with either Hirsch or Wood winning backup and Sefo running scout and redshirting.

2014, however, I fully anticipate a major QB battle.

Sefo talked to Coach Mac tonight; They both have experience and understand what it will take to rebuild a program; Sefo's High School record was 30-30 in 6yrs before he took over; after 3yrs, he is leaving with a 34-5 rec.
