Official 2012 Colorado Coach Search Rumor Compendium - Waiting for the RB Coach

I'm thinking a lot of people will not be happy come Wednesday.

I can't imagine the CU admin being too happy about opening up the checkbook for the assistant's pool, just to triple the salaries of the SJSU staff. I've been wrong before though...

Just because they have $2.6M doesn't mean all of it is going to be used

Which doesn't exactly make me feel better about this...
I'm going to let it play out before I make any judgements. I really like the OC and S&C though right now. Under the last staff there was so much disfunction, that will not be the case here. It is clear that they work well together and they seem to get more out of the players than they have, which isn't something we've had for a while now. The staff will have a lot of contacts and rep in California as well.

I don't disagree with you, and like Lindgren and Forman too, but just would've liked to have seen HCMM make a bigger splash with that money. I'll withhold judgment for now but I'm not overly impressed with the direction the staff seems go be going.

so, he's made his bet. the bet is that "his" guys from sjsu are so talented and cohesive as a group that they they can outcoach the opposition. they won't outrecruit the big boys with this staff, imho-- at least not out of the gate coming from the junior leagues.

so, he's got to beat teams that have far more talent than we do and beat enough of them to get the program going again. and, he's got to beat proven coaching staffs who have demonstrated the ability to win big. take a look around the p12-- these aren't just talented teams-- they are teams coached by very good coaches. kelly, sarkisian, reilly, rich rod, the pirate, etc. these guys have all been part of teams in the hunt for the national championship. they have all been part of staffs that have had ranked teams in major conferences playing for high stakes. and, they all have recruiters on their staffs.

as always, the proof is in the win/loss record so all we can do is hope for the best. he'll need to win soon and more than expected. if that happens and the staff can then build on that with recruiting, then we might get back to where we were.

Guys post news here, not meltdown posts. Thanks. Some reaction is tolerated, but you all are getting ridiculous.

Are the rumors about Adams and La Russa based on someone hearing they are coming to CU or just the fact that they are not yet rumored to be staying at SJSU? (Only 2 rumored to be staying so far) They may turn out to be great coaches, but I am least excited about Adams and La Russa. I have no inside information about them good or bad. Just comparing their resume to other PAC 12 coaches I was hoping for a bigger splash.

Also, rumor is that Hagan may be the only holdover. Is he rumored to be an AC or stay on the administrative side?

multiple Random Internet Poster's, along with some conjecture from 247, seem to be saying that Hagan is staying on the admin side.

Charlie Mackenzie: Hey Mom, I find it interesting that you refer to the Weekly World News as, "The paper." The paper contains facts.
May Mackenzie: This paper contains facts. And this paper has the eighth highest circulation in the whole wide world. Right? Plenty of facts. "Pregnant man gives birth." That's a fact.

Took a look at the resumes, they all seemed decent enough. Bair and Bernardi have very good coaching/recruiting backgrounds in the Pac 12, Jeffcoat has a decent rep and the other, younger guys seem like up and comers. Plus, they should know Cali HS FB and have developed contacts there. Recruiting Cali should hit the road running for 2014.

Frankly, with the re-building job at hand, its seems very smart not to start from scratch on the coaching side; much better to have a majority of guys who have worked together before and who are all on the same page terminolgy- and philosophy-wise. The Buffs don't need a staff who are still learning each other's names in Spring practice.

I seriously doubt HCMM would start off tripling AC salaries just because he could. HCs should know their budget limitations and act accordingly. If not, they won't last long. With his coaching pedigree and track record at SJSU, HCMM should be given the benefit of the doubt on his decisions about staff for a couple of years.

Not new information, but more confirmation from footballscoop.com:
Colorado: Several of Mike MacIntyre's assistants from San Jose State begin officially tomorrow at Colorado. Offensive line coach Gary Bernardi and corners coach Andy La Russa will be there.

Give your mom a kiss or I'll kick your teeth in!

Announcement is now going to be tomorrow per Adam at Rivals and a few other sources.

Any rumors on who the other 2 coaches might be?
none actually. but the timing fits with finalizing details from coaches that are on teams that have recently played a game, or are in the Sugar bowl. (that's completely speculation)
