Do we have a new coach for strength and conditioning? Has he set up a new regime for this team? What are the major changes in emphasis? What are the preliminary assessments on his style?

Just a general WTF is going on?...in this critical area. Where's 'tini? He usually has some insight on this sort of thing.

We hired the San Jose guy. 'tini is now 'Tini or some such ****.

We're going with the bowflex. Seemed like the best system very little money could buy.

I think they're going to distribute bootlegged copies of P90X and tell the kids to do it at home.

The players will set new records on power cleans and bench press, and we will hear stories about how it is so much more intense under the new coaching staff, and how much more in shape they feel.

Everybody's a comic!

When are y'all showing up down on Larimer street with y'all's stand-up routines? I'd almost be willing to watch you, if there's a booze minimum!

Our last guy (Malcolm whosis?) seemed to emphasize small, movement-specific types of lifts that put more emphasis on well-developed guys, doing little things/tecniques more efficiently; fine for NFL players who are older, more physically mature and thus already very strong, well-muscled and over their growth periods. Not unlike that last guy Barnett had from Jacksonville, with a lot of finesse, but not smash-mouth strength or size. Again, NFL-esque, not necessarily good for college age kids..

Are the new guys old-school Rippetoe disciples? Does they emhasize squats and shoulder press, while de-emphasing bench press, as the means to build muscle mass and strengthen the core? Is his purpose to make the guys bigger and stronger, or just more efficient in their movements? Stanford seemed to be just plain, big well-muscled guys, which indicates to me its "old school".

Huge disparity in styles here guys, just curious if I could get a serious response....apparently not.

All I know is he is a disciple of the Stanford guy under Harbaugh. I know nothing about weight lifting other than the 12 oz curls.

I'm calling you out. You aren't Wizzer! He would never say Y'all. I'm calling the Ghostbusters!

To answer your question, Whizzer, I have no idea regarding Forman other than he was at Stanford and was a big reason according to some for SJSU's turnaround

btw:notice they have an indoor facility and it is like 70 on a cold day down there!

I assume the indoor facility is to escape the heat. My niece was recruited for Soccer to ASU and they have an indoor facility they practice and play some games in. I'm sure it's also used by ASU football.

All I know is that we've been getting our asses completely kicked on the field for a long time. I'm not buying any of this S&C crap until we have a game - or two - where we physically dominate the opponent. You can literally count, on one hand, how many times this has happened since 2006. Maybe we should try this deer antler musk juice that Bama is using.

Love the fact that he worked under Harbaugh at Stanford, that's a massive plus.

I've heard MikeMac largely credit S&C for the turnaround at SJSU. I hope Foreman can do the same here, though I'm a bit skeptical.

I'd bet most programs have a very competent S&C coach. It isn't like Forman has some magic formula that no one else has. It has more to the guys you are working with than the work those guys are doing.
