Was seeing what they said about Ryan Moeller - shockingly, nothing.

Instead, I did see that CU is terrible and a disappointment in basketball this year and that CSU is a far better team (our victory was sheer fluke -now we wouldn't win, home or away). I also saw that we are going to lose 13 regular season games this year (prediction as of yesterday). What else? Oh, their game against New Mexico is expected to sell out! First one this year!

Great minds. I went over there today too. First time I've been there since September. Makes me wonder.

Why not just hit yourself in the head with a hammer? Same effect on intelligence.

also, the Pac12 is terrible and overrated and Arizona is awful and CSU wants to play them in the tourney. Plus, none of the national writers have a clue about how awesome they are.

I wished I cared more, but every time someone brings up CSU in football or basketball, I just don't give a ****. We have a little rivalry hopefully brewing with zona and Oregon in bball, and while our football rivalries are ****ed, I'd rather have no rival right now than have CSU take that title. They're irrelevant to me.

They aren't quite irrelevant, as they are in our backyard and we play them all the time. However, I don't view them as an equal. The little brother title is perfect here. It's fun to check out their antics every now and again. I know, I'm sick.

I don't know why they are the way they are. Strange culture there.

I'm very willing to say that CSU is a tournament team this year and may be the best team in a MWC loaded with quality teams (although without the Final 4 challengers we've seen in recent years). I'm also very willing to say that CU and CSU are about even this year the same as last year. Who would win, for the most part, would depend on when they played and where they played. I have a lot of respect for that team. Next year it looks like CU separates because CSU loses so much and hasn't recruited at near our level.

I guess it just is what it is, though. And it doesn't say much good about them that they feel a need to put CU down in order to feel better about themselves.

I like CSU. The reason I went to RM is to see how happy they are about their team but they don't like their team as much as they dislike us.

I'll give them one piece of credit. They are better than the national media is giving them credit for. But seriously, selling out one game a year with the best team they have had in a decade is embarassing.

I should've been clearer. I meant irrelevant as a rival. They were a huge win for us RPI-wise, but in terms of rivalry, I just don't care.

Especially since it isn't that big a gym (=/- 8700 seats) and they are the only show in town up there. This is the same fan base that thinks that they will sell out a 43,000 seat football stadium if built despite never averaging over 30k even when they were dominating their conference and in the national rankings.

You have to give them credit. Their core of dedicated fans is as loyal as any in the country, they just don't have enough in that group to make a significant impact and for the most part nobody else cares enough buy tickets.

:yeahthat:

I really think if we had played them in Boulder last year and FoCo this year, the results of the two games would have flipped. The teams are reasonably even, especially when you add in the super bowl effect CSU gets when they play CU in anything...

That has always been the perfect description of that site....

Dammit Snow, I should neg rep you for baiting me to go over there. That board is an absolute **** show. Lots of posters using Washington as the example of why the MWC is superior to the PAC. I like how a few posters were already chalking up a tournament victory over Kentucky, too. It's a strange community they have there.

its the same bull **** as football season, their fan base can't look outside of fort fun to actually get a clue on where they stand. They are in serious trouble next year, they lose a lot of talent. Would be interesting if there was a good neutral site location to play the game so that the whole where we played discussion is gone, but the only place I can think of would be the pepsi center, and I do not want to play a college game there, its too large.

Thought it was funny how one said ASU should get in ahead of us. Dumbass.

Yeah, I saw that too. I don't know if its just complete ignorance of anything outside of the MWC or blinding hate that drives it. Maybe both...

Let me guess - they probably also don't think that Chen got that shot off before the buzzer, right?
Doesn't matter. By Ram logic, Arizona is vastly overrated because they lost to Cal, so they really don't deserve to be a tourney team anyway.

NO MORE NUETRAL SITE GAMES fOR COLLEGE ATHLETICS. Taking the collegiate atmosphere out of the games is sooo stupid.

Being from NM and a Lobos fan, I've watched almost MWC BBall as PAC12. CSU is a very good team, but probably the 4th best in that league behind UNM, SDSU, and UNLV. They will be lucky to finish the season without at least 3 more loses (AFA a lot better than you think). One must take into account that CSU posters have a combined IQ of Ralphie I in her current state, and we should be happy that they were able to log onto Windows Vista to "punch keys" and make us laugh. That is all.

Thats why I said GOOD neutral site. If there was a small enough arena that it still felt like a college basketball arena between here and ft fun that is what I would want. Playing at pro stadiums is ridiculous, they are simply too large.

Or we can just beat them in Moby next year and end it definitively.

Yeah, really aren't returning much. To this point in the season, both the Mayor and Ski have each outscored their entire returning roster for next year. Scott is within 10 points. They better hope Hurst is the answer for them.

Excellent first post. Why the hell did you lurk for 5 months? We need more of this.

Welcome.

I like neutral court games that are played at places like Maui (arena holds ~2k). Everyone there is very into the game, and its packed. All the tournament games (including the NCAA) suck, even if they do somehow fill the stadium, its not the same.

What about the Broomfield events center? They could claim its too close to Boulder, but it would qualify as a nutural court. Any why they are at it, why not do a full scale front range tournament.

And that's how you go from "zero" to "jewel in the rough" in rep on just one post. Well done.

That said, I wish C4Squared would post on the basketball board more. Dude knows his stuff.

Yep gasm actually texted me today saying MWC is better in basketball... AND football
