So I know buff fans are excited for this game and Arizona fans seem very nervous based on the brief looks at pointguardu.com, but the most surprising thing to me is that the national media is hyping this game right now. Any mention of either team brings up comments on the showdown in Boulder on Thursday.

ESPN saying on their power rankings with regards to AZ, "The Wildcats have plenty of strengths -- talent and size chief among them -- but they've been prone to plenty of shaky stretches this season, the latest of which came during Sunday afternoon's home loss to Cal. Next up: a trip to Colorado. Sabatino Chen says hello."

Pac-12 Network discussed the game any time they could last night. Saying "There will be no love lost when Arizona comes to town on Thursday."

All the media attention combined with my personal hatred for Arizona and the impending black out from the C-Unit has me more excited for a game then I have been in years. What has everyone else excited or what has some of you nervous?

I know I keep harping on this, but I think it's kind of important. Hopefully the stadium doesn't look 1/2 empty on TV again. This is a big game and should look like it is on TV.

I imagine it will look like the CSU game on TV. I was at the game so I cant attest to how full it looked, but it definitely was full in the arena

I don't want this to be a close game at the end. 'Zona has had a knack this year, by luck or otherwise, of winning close games.

I know you keep harping on it and I still don't understand what tv feed they're sending you. None of the games have been 1/2 empty and the vast majority have been sell outs or near sell outs. You're way off on this if you're actually worried that attendance will be bad on Thursday.

+1, knock it off daaaah.

Exactlty! What are you talking about "half empty?" the games look great on TV, nearly all of them. And this one will be the best of the best I imagine.

Honestly, I don't want this game to get too built up for Colorado. They had a horrible hangover after the last game that took a long time to get over. Win-great it counts as a quality win. Lose-move on and pound ASU.

I'm feeling good. Arizona has immense talent and will always be a major challenge, but they've shown time and time again that they are vulnerable (like last night). It's extremely refreshing to have gotten those two road wins and now have 5/7 at home. Some tough games left for sure, but we have a golden opportunity on our hands to finish strong and there are no remaining road games with the potential to seriously damage us.

To the bold: very true. Cal and Furd are both Top 75 RPI teams. If we got a split on that road trip it would end up being a major net positive to how the committee evaluated our resume. Losing both wouldn't hurt us much. And (dare to dream) winning both is the type of thing that catapults a team like CU from a 9-seed to a 6-seed.

The other crazy thing is the regular season championship and #1 seed are no longer out of reach. If the buffs keep up this good play, we just might steal it.

Zona losing to Cal at home is why I think we lose this game. Huge wake up for them like Utah was for us. ****.

By playing a zone D?

Oh you noticed that little weakness too? lol Zona doesn't scare me. We were beating them by 18 before we let off the gas and allowed them some breathing room, and even losing that lead we still won that damn game. The cats are not as good as their ranking. They are not as good as they think they are either. I see this possibly starting out like the CSU game. Our boys play very well when there is high energy in the event center.

I think it comes down to playing physical without fouling. Zona has size, that's for sure, but outside of Lyons and Hill they can be a pretty soft team.

It'd also be awesome to get someone like XJ maintain aggressiveness on O from 16-8 minutes in the second half, hopefully inspiring those around him to keep a foot on the gas through that stretch.

If we can keep our foot on the gas then this game is ours. We let up and let zona back in, then we will have a similar situation as our last meeting

The flip side is Arizona has been in numerous close games against lesser competition and a few losses. They've yet to go into full gear after that. Sure they're capable of it, but it hasn't happened in situations similar to this for them yet.

**** Arizona. We won't shoot like we did in Tuscon for 35/40 minutes, but I guarantee they haven't experienced anything like the heat/altitude combo that CEC brings. Seriously, it gets so dam hot in there. Need another big game from XJ!

I know the cats have played in hostile environments though, but I think the C-Unit is going to be a different kind of ferocious on Thursday.

the atmosphere is what im most looking forward to and its why i dont think we lose this game... the fans/c-unit wont allow it

Nothing what they faced at Oregon, Washington or ASU will compare to what they encounter at the Keg. Arizona might be caught napping at times, but they'll show up for this one. I want our atmosphere against CSU when they were absolutely shell shocked by our noise to look like a library compared to what Arizona walks into. Let's show once and for all which PAC-12 arena gets most hostile
