I'll start it off with Scott Downing. He is currently Asst. Head Coach/ TE Coach & Special Teams Coordinator at Tulsa.

Downing was the Head Coach at Northern Colorado from 2006-2010 and before that he was TE Coach & Recruiting Coordinator at Nebraska for 3 years (2003-2005). For the 6 years before that, he had been Asst. Head Coach/ RB Coach & Special Teams Coordinator at Purdue from 1997-2002. His previous 10 seasons had been at Wyoming, 2 of which he was Special Teams Coordinator.

Downing has coached six FBS first-team All-Americans, the 2001 Ray Guy Award winner, the Ray Guy Award finalist in 2003 and semifinalist in 2005, the Groza Award finalist in 2001 and semifinalist in 1996, and the Mosi Tatupu Special Teams Award finalist in 1998 and 2001.

My top choice is Jamie Christian at Houston. Has previously coached at ASU and Oregon State in the conference. Has strong ties to the Bay area, Sacramento, and Fresno for recruiting.

Everyone mentioned previously in this thread would be a great get, save for those cracks about former Embree and Hawkins staffers. RB or TE experience preferred since Adams is pulling double duty. Would also take a guy who has experience with LBs as Baer has DC responsibilities too. I'll add Mike Haywood to the list even though he is out of football and has that DV charge in his past so he likely never made MikeMac's short list of contacts for the vacancy.

Jamie Christian. Please. His recruiting alone would be well worth it. He stole a 4* CA WR from Notre Dame on signing day a couple years ago at Houston of all places.

Not to mention I believe his ST at ASU were quite good.

Tommie Robinson
You might be right. I saw that he was about to accept a position with Utah State, but now some one else is in play. For what I saw, he was more of an RB coach than a special teams coach. Where did he coach special teams?

+1. And here is some supporting info:
University of Houston assistant coach Jamie Christian was named one of the nation’s top recruiters by the recruiting service website Rivals.com.
Christian
Christian, the Cougars’ special teams coordinator and inside receivers/tight ends coach, was listed among the top recruiters from schools in non-BCS conferences.
Christian has been responsible for the Cougars making recruiting in-roads in California, most notably last year with the signing of five-star wide receiver Deontay Greenberry.
Rivals.com noted that Christian “used the coaching change at Tennessee to flip defensive end Chauntez Jackson and locked up three-star athlete D’Juan Hines” of Dekaney. He also identified and landed three-star junior college defensive back Turon Walker, a midterm enrollee who is expected to compete for the cornerback position vacated by the graduation of D.J. Hayden.
The Cougars’ 2013 recruiting class was ranked 50th by Rivals.com and 59th by Scout.com.

I don't really see Christian going from a inside WR's/TE/ST's coach to a ST coach only.

Iowa's RB and ST coach Lester Erb has reportedly left to pursue "other opportunities." According to his profile, he was recognized by Rivals as one of the Top 25 national recruiters in 2011.

Toby Neinas? When will MB's debt to Chuck be paid in full?

I'd love to know the details here. Because all I do know is that Chuck Nienas is responsible for Chuck Long at SDSU and Dan Hawkins at CU being on Bohn's resume. On the surface, Bohn should have lost that phone number a long time ago if he had any sense at all. There's something going on behind the scenes. Bohn must owe him for his own career or something.
