National Champs.

Indiana is my favorite right now, but that really means nothing since it's all about the bracket matchups.

I'm starting to believe in Michigan State. If they get there, I'll take them over Florida. Otherwise, Florida wins.

Crazy year, though. It wouldn't shock me even if a team like Pittsburgh went on a run and won this thing.

My money is on CU so I can get rich. My brain says IU, wouldn't mind seeing McClain win one and get a nice head gig for next year.

Who ya got? Gonna go with Duke.

I'm not saying this, just because they stomped on Duke - it's more the consistency in which they impress.

Miami is a team to watch. They are #3, but I feel like they're not getting their just recognition. Everyone talks about Indiana, Michigan, Duke, Syracuse, etc. They may lose at Duke next time they play, but they are a very legit, experienced, dangerous team.

All basketball fans need to watch Shane Larkin play. He's my favorite college pt guard to watch play since Irving.

I've given up on Jamie Dixon in the tourney. Pitt has burned me at least 3 or 4 times and I always have a tendency to pick them the following year :bang:.

Butler has good bigs and strong sharp shooters. Plus they have something no other team has.

Florida was my first thought. mixed feelings about Billy D. and i think the world could use less SEC championships.

miami an gonzaga are stellar against rpi top 50....like 9-1 type stuff IIRC. that's real when you hit the second weekend. izzo is scary in the tournament when his guys are rebounding and buying in...and handchecks aren't being called much. i like Crean. even though not a huge fan per se of the Big Ten

edit: looking at the wrong column for wins againt top 50 with the U and Zags. those are road win numbers UM is 7-1 against top 50 (outstanding), Zags are 3-2 but have only played one top 50 team since the new year.

I mentioned Pitt earlier because their numbers are fantastic for both offensive and defensive efficiency.

Today's loss at #18 Marquette is a prime example. Marquette was on fire today and they're almost impossible to beat in Milwaukee anyway.

Marquette shot 56.5% from the field and 45.5% from 3pt.
Marquette shot 75.9% from the line while getting 13 more free throws than Pitt. (Fouls were 12 to 20 in Marquette's favor.)
Marquette outrebounded Pitt 31 to 23.
Marquette only had 12 turnovers for the game.
Marquette held Pitt to under 42% shooting.

And Pitt only lost by 10 points.

I haven't payed that much attention to the field outside of CU, but watching that Michigan vs Michigan State game, State looked like the real deal. Granted it was at home vs their rival, but still, Izzo's got his guys honed in right now.

Michigan State. Would like to see Izzo win another one, and he has the team to do it. Wouldn't mind seeing Indiana win it because of McClain. Would love it if the 'Zags won, how can you not pull for Few? Dude deserves one.

Florida. Watched the Gonzaga game today with my buddy in town from Spokane. They didn't look too hot on the road at san francisco.

I'm not putting as much stock in that as some are. When you play countless bad teams on the road like Gonzaga does in the WCC, you're going to have an off game or two and have a couple non-aesthetically pleasing wins. It would happen to anyone. Still think the Zags are a contender.

Miami is gonna be 2 now. Sounds weird but they are really good and experienced. They are probably a lock for a one seed if they don't fall apart. Duke isn't winning without Kelly, he makes a big difference for them. He's a euro type 4, spreads the court out. Kinda reminds me of when Kyrie got hurt to a lesser extent. It's anybody's title really, CU just needs to get in. I'll stick with Duke but Kelly better play before the tourney or I don't see it.

I'd pick Florida today. They are just nasty on defense.

Michigan State is doing their Michigan state thing though, you will never convince me that there is a better coach in this country than Tom Izzo. And don't worry about them losing in the Big 10 quarterfinals when that happens, Izzo gets his team ready for the Big dance, not little ones.
