Montgomery Morehead States a player

That's an unstable team. Montgomery has been pulling out everything to get them to play hard on both ends for 40 minutes. As a coach, I think he's having one of those seasons that you really don't enjoy very much.

Thanks, but thread title?

I'm guessing Cal has Monty on secret probation at this point (not yet to the point of double secret probation).

Yep. Somehow worked some magic these last two games, but with the infighting and such on that team, I have serious doubts as to whether Cal is going to be able to keep it up through the end of the season. Schedule is pretty favorable, though

I just checked out Montgomery's resume... and it's extremely impressive. Since 1994 he has made the tourney every single year but one (not counting a couple years with the Warriors)

we knocked him out of the NIT two years ago. He undoubtedly has an impressive résumé, had a couple extremely good Stanford teams with Mark Madsen and such.

This is such a nonstory.....

Montgomery has been coaching for 30+ years, and he's got a solid relationship with Crabbe. Just looking at the videos, it pales in comparison to what Sean Woods did to his player, and Woods has a history of that kind of nonsense....No big deal, but I wouldn't mind seeing Monty sit against us .

Yeah definitely. I think it also makes a difference how the game ended up. Woods pushes his player, the guy goes to the bench in tears, and they lose the game. He's a hot head and the team is spiraling out of control. Montgomery does it, Crabbe scores 14 points after, and Cal gets a come from behind win. It was a motivational tool as Montgomery said and it worked (this time).
In related news, he gets reprimanded by the Pac-12, but no suspension.
