Paul Richardson, Gerald Thomas, Nelson Spruce, Jeff Thomas, Vincent Hobbs

It's a capable group that even has some star power. There is definitely potential next season.

Throw in some contribution from Austin Ray hopefully, and maybe some depth provided by McCulloch and one of the freshman and we just might have some targets.

Getting the ball there might be a problem. Especially if we start Webb again, his throwing area is essentially limited to the tackle box.

I really have a hard time believing Webb will see the field short of massive injuries. MM said he likes to see what players have done in live gameplay, well we've seen what Webb does.

I'm not too worried about QB play. Lindgren's offense will really benefit them with the short, quick passes. I know the QB play was bad last year but I have a lot of faith in Lindgren's offense and coaching and designing it to his players strength.

Contingent on lining up Gerald Thomas and Vincent Hobbs all over the field IMO (including the backfield).

The group of receivers has the potential to be better than average and even very good. I am excited for the first time in a couple of years about our crew of wide outs.

Richardson is good, Thomas is decent. I don't know who any of those other guys are. I'm not ready to declare this an all star receiver corp just yet

I might not be remembering correctly, but doesn't GThomas have an issue with actually catching the football? (Ill take it with a grain of salt that he may just have been surprised when the ball actually hit his hands last year).

Give the dude a break, he is young, he'll be fine. If the dumbasses from the fan base stay away, he's just gonna improve.

I am in agreement with you... We should be a lot better than the past 2 or three years, even though that is not saying much.

On paper dramatically different from last year. Start.......mixing......the.......kool.....aid......

You can't kill yourself if you're already dead on the inside.

Craig James has used similar logic. Allegedly.

If Webb is our starter, I'm going to knock a whole game of this year's over/under. We know what that ceiling looks like.

there are some guys in there that look like they can play.

i'm as hopeful about our WR corps as i have been for a very long time... maybe since mccoy and hackett. but, there's paper, there's practice, and there's game time. we'll see.

You ****ing jinxing mother****er. When you start getting optimistic, I start heading for shelter. Christ, you've doomed us all!

If it makes you feel better, I think the defense is still going to be pretty awful.

Mass suicide will ensue if Jordan Webb is named the starter.
Man, could you imagine? Holy crap, total Bufffan meltdown... What if this new offense (what he was recruited for out of high school) explodes with him at the helm? EB and JE would be laughing so loud, we could here them in Boulder.

Am I crazy or is that a decent crop of receivers?

I think you are optimistic. Richardson was a legit star before injury - lets see how he comes back - I hope he is fully recovered.

Gerald Thomas has some quicks but need improvement in both his catching and his routes. He only had 18 catches and his yards per were poor because he did not play the ball well on deeper routes.

Nelson Spruce - solid possession receiver, runs good routes and has good hands. Should benefit a lot if PRich comes back strong. Needs to work on his separation from coverage.

Jeff Thomas - lets hope. We don't know because we have not seen him play or practice yet. He has the metrics of receiver.

Vincent Hobbs - lined up as TE - was impressive at times and played the ball well downfield. We will need increased production from him with the loss of Kasa.

You did not mention Tyler McCulloch but he is definitely in the mix. He has been inconsistent in his career to date but has good hands and would be an ideal slot receiver with his size especially going up against linebackers.

This team desperately needs speed receivers who are a real threat which will open it up for the others...we had zero of those guys last year.

And as mentioned the QB play was so horrid it is hard to be too critical of the WRs.
