Games tip off on Saturday with the key game being (5) CU vs (12) KU in Boulder at 4:30 MT.

Our likely Round of 32 matchup is (4) South Carolina vs (13) South Dakota State at 2:10 MT.

This is kind of a fun POD for us. We get an old foe that has pretty much owned CU lately and then a probably match up with an SEC school.

I think if the ladies come out firing on all cylinders they get to the Sweet 16. If they play offense the same way they have the last few games then well it will be very tough to get out of this POD.

(I sound like one of those TV talking heads stating the obvious. lol)

Lets Go Buffs!! Beat the Jayhawks!!!

The key to getting two wins in Boulder is what I think it has been all season - defend and rebound while being opportunistic on offense. CU has been remarkable consistent on the defensive end this season. If they keep it up they will be in good shape. + Jamee, Jen and MMP need to step it up on both ends of the court.

Agree ... they need to keep doing what they've been doing well....defense and rebounding... but they also need to be a bit sharper on the offensive end as well. In their last few games they have had some of the offensive dry spells that can cause real problems. They keep the lead to win against UW but it was shots not falling that gave Stanford the opening they needed to pull ahead.

I have made it to Boulder and am eagerly anticipating tomorrow's games.

I do think our defense and rebounding. We can't have scoring droughts or play with NCAA jitters for very long.

I do hope Hargis has improved enough to give us a few minutes and more on Monday.

Most likely, we would get Notre Dame in the Sweet Sixteen. Or we can hope for a MAJOR upset in Iowa City tomorrow.

Came home late last night from the US MNT soccer match in Commerce City. The roads were icy. Hope that won't have too much of an impact on attendance for the games this afternoon.

Lots of articles and video available to preview today's games:

Let's go Buffs!

I'm not ready for basketball season to end. Need to advance today.

Iowa or Miami could be capable in the Round of 32. Notre Dame is nasty, though.

The Pac-12 is looking strong so far. UCLA won by 17 in its tourney opener. In the NIT, both Utah and Washington (only P12 teams in it) advanced out of the first round this week.

Looks like the Lady Buffs are having some issues getting the basketball in the basket. Beating Kansas in pretty much every other category.

Down 17. Looks like we screwed the pooch with home court advantage til the sweet 16

Defense hasn't been great either. Gave up 37 points in the first half. Didn't expect them to give up more than 30 if they were playing worth a damn.

This was the worst game I saw this team play this season. Painful and I drove for about 14 hours to see it. Not looking forward to the drive back.

Thanks for your steadfast support this and every season.

You are in the running for rookie of the year for your tireless enthusiasm for the women's bb program.

It was an otherwise great season that ended ugly.

Best wishes to Chucky in the next chapter of her career, wherever that might take her.

Thank you for your very kind words. I did reach out to several players on Twitter last night. Have not heard from Chucky. She appeared devastated when she left the court and in the interview I saw on the news. I am very proud of Chucky for both her basketball and the fact that she is graduating in May--four years in college and she will have her degree. I have no idea if she might try playing in Europe or not. I do think she could make it in Europe where the American is supposed to concentrate on scoring.

I truly enjoyed watching this team play. Glad I had Dish so I could watch so many games. Next season, I will be upgrading my internet speed if my ISP doesn't, so I can actually watch the online games.

Yes, the great season the team put together did end ugly. I'm sure the team and coaching staff is very disappointed.

I did not see this coming. I have seen Kansas play because to get the Pac 12 network, I had to buy the sports multi-pack which gave me the Fox sports network. This was probably the best game I have seen them play. They had upset Iowa State, but otherwise did do well in the Big 12.

Part of our problem is that on the women's side, there are 4 good teams and 8 mediocre teams. The mediocre teams do not prepare a team for NCAA competition. In the Big 12, every team can beat anybody but Baylor on a given night. I hope the other women's teams in the Pac 12 improve as that will help us in the future.

I agree that our team was not battle tested enough. Linda needs to control what she can on that by fixing the non-conference schedule. No more scheduling of teams that she knows are going to be sub-200 RPI. They do nothing for the resume when you beat them and do nothing to get the team ready for conference play and March.

Exactly Nik. She needs to start scheduling some tough teams in the non-conference schedule. We played some teams that taught us nothing because of their low RPI. The game is more like a scrimmage. I understand that you want to give freshmen an opportunity to play, but really big, tough programs play other tough programs during the non-conference schedule.

My friend kept saying Kansas should not have gotten in to the tournament with 17 wins. Well, not only did they beat us, they embarrassed us.

I did find it amusing that KMM was in the house and even had fans going over to talk to her. Why would anybody want to talk to the coach who almost destroyed our women's basketball program? Didn't find me trying to talk to her.

Mandy Nightingale and Britt Hartshorn, who played with Linda, were both there. Mandy made the rounds and did talk to fans.

It was stunning to CU's defense not show up at all yesterday. I don't know if it was the two weeks without a game or what, but almost from the get go CU was allowing open shots from from all over the court and early in the shot clock. Yes, poor shooting hurt as did not having Rachel, but they could have given themselves a shot at staying in the game had they played defense and rebounded.

How many times did Goodrich penetrate CU's defense? No one has done what she did to CU this season.

Another thought about the game - KU had a lot of seasoned players who had experienced the NCAA tourney, CU had none.

Next season when the Buffs are in the tourney again (which they should be) they will be in a different position.
