Maybe I am reading too much into this but Dillon posted this on Twitter this morning:

Shaney D@shanedillonqb7 46m When you get random texts letting u know that u got support back in San Diego >>>>> #Subtweet #SDSU

I thought the SDSU hashtag was interesting.

He's probably frustrated because he thinks he's better than the coaches do or he hasn't made as much progress as he'd hoped. Or the JC transfer thing bugs him.

I really can't wait until we find our guy...whoever that is.

So San Diego State is recruiting him? Sounds like an NCAA violation to me.

 If he happens to end up at SDSU he might regret this tweet.

I'm so glad twitter wasn't around when I was in high school or college.

I don't understand what he is trying to say. Is he implying he is happy (or upset; I see no indication of his mood) he is receiving support from someone in San Diego that may or may not be SDSU? What the heck is a hashtag? Is that same sort of thing as a tag on these threads?

The word random implies that someone at SDSU is texting him support. I.e. random students most likely. Meaningless drivel.

No staff members can contact him from SDSU.

Could mean some SDSU students are hoping to hear he is looking to transfer. Could mean a lot of things. Back to work boys. Nothing to see here.

How am I to cure my boredom if I can't endlessly speculate about meaningless Tweets? :wow:

I don't think any of us know what this tweet means yet. But things could become more clearer if we learn of the top 3/4 and the status of Fishback. If Dillon is not in the 1st 3 I'd almost guarantee you he is going to shop around and I wouldn't blame him. if he is in the top 3 I doubt he is looking to transfer. He already RS one year and hated having to sit out. He is a competitor and wants to play. If he has a chance to start at CU vs. transfer and wait a year before having a chance to start I doubt he would do that.

As for hashtags on Twitter it is just the # sign in front of some words or text. It allows for people to follow a thread. For example on Twitter I follow the hashtag #cubuffs

Dillon had previously tweeted that this upcoming block of spring practices will determine a lot.

If I was going to speculate on tweets as if I was Perez Hilton discussing Brad & Angelina, I would be putting 2 & 2 together and going drama queen to a degree bcs would be proud of... and my position would be that Dillon is not where he expected to be (was promised by former staff?) on the depth chart and if he doesn't get there he's looking at SDSU as a transfer destination.

But since I'm not the type to freak out over tweets from teenagers, I recognize that Dillon could mean a lot of other things. Perhaps he's got a friend at SDSU who is transferring here or just someone who gave him some good advice or maybe a girlfriend? Perhaps he's talking about solidifying himself as QB1 over the next 7-10 days or that comment didn't even relate to football?

I'm just going to watch this play out rather than act like an old biddy in a knitting circle.

Think people are forgetting that this is the same kid who is seen as a leader and talked to some about not transferring when Embree got fired.

Sounds like friends and family know 3 to 4 QBs will get axed and that they are rooting/supporting him.....thats all

I wish they would just let him begin the season as the starter and see what happens. If he is good we are set for years to come, if he isn't then at least we know what we have.

I felt the same way about Wood last year when they kept giving Webb the nod. But I have more faith that HCMM and staff will figure out who our best QB is and not base it only on practice performance or favorites, etc. So whomever they pick I think I'll be OK with unless it is Webb again in which case I am going on a hunger strike.

He also tweeted this week will decide a lot for him yesterday, so there is something to it.

I'm waiting for the day that every 18-19yr old FR doesn't want to leave the moment they find out they're not starting. CU is seen as "the easy school" to start right away with no threat of competition.

It's not every highly touted recruit's birth right to start immediately at CU. Shane, get over it, come on. Sefo is coming too, and another guy after that, and after that. That's QB life at a P12 school.

Just tweet back at him and ask him what the hell he meant, this mystery could have been solved hours ago.

You realize that he is from the San Diego area and that it would not be all that surprising that he would be getting encouragement from friends in that area as he is challenging for a starting job with the Buffs.
